The only quadratic equation song that I was ever taught was one that is to the beat of Yankee Doodle. It was stuck in my head for days.

Mathematics Nerdfighters 2 months, 3 weeks agoWe are going into integrals in calculus now. I’m very excited about it. Hopefully it doesn’t turn up to be as annoying as curve sketching. Anybody else going into or already doing integrals?
i started them earlier this semester. it is basically deriving backwards.

I think that’s why I’m so excited about it. I loved derivatives and now we get to do it backwards. Awesome stuff.

Starting to integrate as well (sorry if bumping a one-week old update is frowned upon here). It’s easy enough, but it’s a little tricky having to switch back and forth between integration and derivation; I get them mixed up sometimes.

Haha, I don’t frown upon that. Yeah, that becomes a bit complex. Overall, I enjoy it. It is way better then optimization and related rates. They weren’t hard, but I hated trying to remember the equation for calculating the area or vomue of a cone or cylinder.-
I know what you mean! I sort of started remembering all the formulas after a while, but I really didn’t like having to think back to Geometry

Right! I really hate when the teacher tells you that you should know this by now. No I shouldn’t, I took that class years ago! Haha I really didn’t enjoy geometry.

haha Ive heard that one before. Gets me every time. Sometimes I tell people these math jokes and they either just stare at me or give me a pity laugh. glad there are more people that understand.

haha. Love that math pun. Nerdy quetion: what’s your favorite kind of math? I prefer calculus and I hate geometery.

Right now, Algebra minus Matrices. I’m learning Calc right now, and I like it a lot, but I don’t know if I like it more than Algebra yet. I’ll have to spend more time with it.
Oh, and I despise Geometry, I’m kind of indifferent to trig, but geo can stay out of my math life forever.-
I liked algebra and algebra 2. I find geo so pointless to the math curriculum. You will never need it unless maybe if you become an architect or something. Trig was ok,but since you need kind of a lot for calc, im learning to like it a bit more.

Yeah, probably. And from what I’ve gotten from the practice test my teacher gives me, they are hard. What score are you shooting for? I’m hoping for a 4.-
Exatly. They should be banned from all schools. Well we are getting another teacher who actually has exerience in AP calc on monday. My last teacher had never taught it before and I guess she was feeling the pressure from it all and couldnt take it anymore. Im shooting for a 5 or 4 but if not, Ill be happy if I just pass.

That sucks. I don’t always do my calculus homework in pen. I mostly take notes in pen in that class. But I always do the math problems in my physics class in pen. There is just something about doing math in pen that makes me feel adventerous.
I am aware that I used the word ’pen’ too many times. Sorry.
