Ok so I just have to get this brain crack out. I have been planning for a long time of writing “Looking For Alaska” the musical. I haven’t gotten very far because I feel like this would be a bad idea, any thoughts?

Well, it’s possible.
BUT the story doesn’t seem to be of a musical type.
It’d be a great contemporary play though.

A play would be perfect for it. I just said musical because it has all the fun of a play with all the fun of putting music to John’s work.

What about Will Grayson, Will Grayson?
Isn’t that ABOUT a musical?

That is actually a pretty interesting idea. I will have to look into it :) .

I have thought about making it a play myself, but I couldn’t see how it would work, I mean, with scenes like the Junior Prank it would be hard to pull off.

That is the problem with turning things into other things. Sometimes you would have to cut some of the stuff that is important for the sake of following certain guidelines.
