| Gwindalyn Duchess | Simply put: The last thing you copy and pasted, you copy and paste here. It’s always funny to see what the last thing people copy and pasted was. And NO CHEATING! It must be the absolute last thing you copy and pasted. There can be explanation, of course, if you feel the need to explain something. I shall start! “It’s hard for everyone. It always seems like it’s hardest for you, but your success and your happiness has much more to do with understanding other people around you than it does with understanding yourself. And, guess what, the homecoming queen probably has crippling phobias too. It sounds cliche, but you have to think about everyone like they’re people, and suddenly you realize that 90% of teenagers have moments where they want to cut themselves, pull out their hair, punch their best friend and sit crying in the shower. And EVERYONE was once a teenager…that goes for your teachers, parents, rock idols, and grand parents…and those people all made it through.” Hank Green ^ I love that. Copy and pasted it as my Facebook status.

| Captain Mollyanne Sunshine | As you know, I’m quite keen on comic books. Especially the ones about superheroes. I find the whole mythology surrounding superheroes fascinating. Take my favorite superhero, Superman. Not a great comic book. Not particularly well-drawn. But the mythology… The mythology is not only great, it’s unique. Now, a staple of the superhero mythology is, there’s the superhero and there’s the alter ego. Batman is actually Bruce Wayne, Spider-Man is actually Peter Parker. When that character wakes up in the morning, he’s Peter Parker. He has to put on a costume to become Spider-Man. And it is in that characteristic Superman stands alone. Superman didn’t become Superman. Superman was born Superman. When Superman wakes up in the morning, he’s Superman. His alter ego is Clark Kent. His outfit with the big red “S” – that’s the blanket he was wrapped in as a baby when the Kents found him. Those are his clothes. What Kent wears – the glasses, the business suit – that’s the costume. That’s the costume Superman wears to blend in with us. Clark Kent is how Superman views us. And what are the characteristics of Clark Kent? He’s weak… He’s unsure of himself… He’s a coward. Clark Kent is Superman’s critique on the whole human race. Woahness… I was showing my friend the best monologue in the history of monologues besides Donny Darko’s rant about smurfs. |

| Andi N. | I found this song on YouTube, done by collegehumour, and I sent it to my friend over Skype because the first half reminded me SO MUCH of the Anthropology course we both took last semester – particularly the second class when she was talking about creationism vs. evolution: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFJzJUYsNr4&feature=g-u-u&context=G2cb853eFUAAAAAAAAAA |

| Jerky Malloy | “I am 17 and in love with the most amazing man (whom gets on this blog frequently).” Also on my clipboard: “It’s all about the inequal rights of men to define themselves however they desire superseding the rights of women to define themselves. The patriarchy is allowed to create a class of make-believe women who exemplify a fictional concept of mock femininity as an exercise in dominance. They must claim to be better than women even at the task of (superficially) being women.” |

| Danila | Ginny and Hermione tried to convince Harry to write a book about what REALLY happened with Voldemort instead of letting Rita Skeeter get about a quarter of the facts right and filling up the rest of a book with nonsense. Harry, after all, would know what happened better than anyone. And Harry tried to please the two girls in his life. He honestly did try to write the book. But he got too distracted with quidditch, wizard’s chess, and eventually his children. |
