@teaandtorchwood oh…haha sorry! I saw you had floccinaucinihilipilification as one of your words and that was a major joke running through the whole show, and…and well I thought you had uh…seen it before…*awkward feet shuffling* yeah.

@rainbowsprinkles Oh.. xD Well no, but I might watch it! (After I finish Torchwood, Secret Diary of a Call Girl, Merlin and Supernatural.. but I’ll put it on my list of Shows I Should Take Into Consideration When Bored. That list didn’t exist before but it does now.)

@teaandtorchwood it’s actually a web show, I should probably add. It’s just one giant parody of the video game Kingdom Hearts, so if you’re new to the fandom, it might come across as incredibly, awkwardly insane to you. I can now say that you have been warned.

@rainbowsprinkles I’ve never played Kingdom Hearts, so I don’t think I’d enjoy it as much then. x3

I’ve actually been keeping a list like this since the summer of 2008. It is over 250 pages long.
Sample:

whistlin’ dixie
Rastus minstrelsy
shrieking phantasms
polymorphous perversity
vocal constabulary
anatomical hinterlands
proprietary eponyms
conjugal exertions

And, as a bonus, a word I learned today: “Oireachtas.”

Dang it, floccinaucinihilipilification has already been said. I love that word because it is its own definition: floccinaucinihilipilification is the act of deeming something worthless or trivial, and the word in and of itself is worthless and trivial.

Colloquial, because it is NOT its own definition. A word that is colloquial is one which is in the everyday lexicon (ooh, lexicon is a good word too), and the word “colloquial” is definitely not one of those words (unless you’re me, because then you would use it quite often because it is your favorite word).

- ambiguous
- defenestrate (always have to mention this and even though my current laptop is driving me crazy, the good thing is that when it’s not working I get an excuse to use this word!)
- ethereal
- brolly
- hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia, in its obvious ridiculousness as it stands for the fear of long words

Shenanigans is my favorite word, but i’m pretty inclined to nefarious and dalliance, also Chiaroscuro and thank god for spellcheck on that that last one because I’m incredibly bad at spelling that word, but I love the way it sounds. And it’s a beautiful concept.

Rendezvous. By FAR my favorite word. It’s also a word people don’t know I know, so every time I use it I get a range of responses. My favorite was “That’s a big word for you.” So I asked them to tell me what a humuhumunukunukuapua’a was and they nearly dropped to the floor. (google it if you don’t know. They’re awesome)

Although antidisestablishmentarianism is fun to say as well.
And with a close third, triskaidekaphobia, the fear of the number thirteen.
