| James | Me and possibly a couple other people are going to be reading 50 pages every day for the month of February. It’s officially part of the project I linked to below, but really it would be great for anyone to do it, even if you aren’t doing that project. All you have to do is read 50 pages of any book each day for the month. I made this thread for us to talk about the books we’re reading, recommend books and things. Enjoy your reading! http://yourpants.org/pantsforum/topic/projects-for-a-month

| James | Fifty Page February has now officially started! I’m starting by reading The Book Thief which is very good based on the very beginning. |

| Jerky Malloy | I’ll probably end up doing this anyhow, given how far behind I am on reading in my history class. Good goal, though. I have lots of books to read, including a bunch that’ve accumulated massive debts from the public library. Should probably get around to returning those. |

| Lauren | I LOVE The Book Thief! It was a fantastic book! It took me a little while to get used to the narration style, but it was really interesting once I did. I also really liked how Liesel started out being 9, but the book wasn’t a book for 9-year-olds. It’s a great read. You’ll enjoy it. I’m starting out with Children of the Lamp 7. It’s a series I started through Battle of the Books in 6th grade, and stuck with. |

| James | This project is probably a good way to stop owing the library. I’ve been wanting to read Children of the Lamp but never gotten around it. I might try to read it later this month. The Book Thief is very good so far (based on the first 50 pages). |

| Lauren | If you decide to read it – GO IN ORDER. My order went: 1, 4, 5, 2, 3, 6, and then I’ll read 7. Wikipedia helped me out quite a bit in filling in information and keeping me on track (at least a little bit on track). |

| James | I will. I learned my lesson about reading books in order when I read the last Harry Potter book before any of the others. |

| Faye | I’ve decided to join in with this! So far I’ve read about 60 pages a day on average. Yesterday I wasn’t couting how many pages I read but by some happy accident it turned out to be 51, which is perfect. The first book I read in February was volume 1 of The Vampire Diaries by L. J. Smith. I’m doing this thing where I’m not allowed to buy any new books until I’ve read the ones I’ve already got, and this has been on my shelf for a while. It was okay. I thought some parts were kinda boring, but at the end there was a preview of the first chapter of the next book, and there’s quite a big twist that I didn’t expect. So I might read the next one eventually… but like I said, I’m not allowed to buy any new books at the mment until I’ve read all the ones I’ve got. The next book I read will probably be Shades of Grey by Jasper Fforde or Gone by Michael Grant. |

| James | I’m glad you’re joining in! That’s quite a good idea. I often buy books and don’t end up reading them for a very long time. Also, if you don’t get to 50 pages one day, you can try to read more another day to catch back up. Just make sure you read 1,450 by the end of the month. |

| Lauren | I have a ginourmous stack of books sitting on my dresser. They’re all leftover from December, because of Christmas and my birthday. I bought like thirty books. And, so far, I’ve read, like, three. Haha. That’s a fantastic idea. |

| James | Hello guys. I’m almost done with The Book Thief (which was very good by the way) and I’m wondering which book to read. So in this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZrsYPLnfXQ I asked people to vote between Very Far Away From Anywhere Else by Ursula Le Guin or Gossamer by Lois Lowry. But it’s currently a tie. So it would be wonderful if you could go comment with your vote. You don’t even need to actually watch the video. Thank you! |

| James | Hello. So, I finished the Book Thief, which was very good and you should definitely read it if you haven’t, and I’m now going to be reading Very Far Away From Anywhere Else by Ursula Le Guin. |
