| Liza Rae Ruedas | Hi! So I’m an aspiring filmmaker. Wong Fu Productions are like my inspiration! So anyway, I haven’t really had much experience with filmmaking and I was wondering if you guys have any suggestions on how I should start out. I’m currently using a Canon 600D with a kit II lens, and I’m getting my 50mm f/1.8 lens soon. I’ve got a few storylines in mind already, and I’m planning to film them during my holidays. So yeah, please help me out by giving suggestions and tips and things! Thanks so much, guys! |

| QED | If you can find a book on how paintings are composed that could help you learn how to set up shots. |

| Gillvinyeta | Here are some books that got me started: Websites: http://www.youtube.com/filmriot (These guys release a new episode twice a week and are educational and entertaining-if not somewhat gory) Hope this helped! Also, in your earlier stages of filmmaking, don’t take yourself to seriously. Chances are that your films will be….how do I put this delicately…they’ll be crap, and you should be able to recognize what you did wrong so that you can fix this in later works (watch episode 17/season 7 of The Office: Threat Level Midnight. Even if you don’t like the show, it teaches some good filmmaking lessons). |

| Liza Rae Ruedas | Thanks, guys! You’ve been very very helpful! I’m now subscribed to Film Riot! I’ve browsed through Indymogul. It looks really interesting, but I haven’t had time to sit down and watch the videos cos I’ve been busy with school work. I’ll check them out once I have time. I currently have an idea in mind. It’s gonna have this passage as a voiceover: Where the whole short film is like, based on different cameras. So for example, like the hangouts bit, there’s a group taking a polaroid. For perfect weather, it would be a guy taking photo of the sky. Something like that. It’s very Wong Fu Production-inspired. Do let me know what you think! I’m going to start filming soon. |

| Alexandra Hunter | Get yourself a notebook. I keep a moleskin, something that you can bring with you everywhere. It can fit in your purse your backpack on your bedside table. Everywhere. This way you can write down ideas, thoughts, quotes, anything that you want. |

| deadlyloofah | Liza, I would say the filmriot guys are fantastic i’m subscribed to them as well. I have been doing film for the last 7 years, and even so I still know jack about it. I’m not a huge believer in film school BUT i will say taking a few classes helps but most importantly watch what others are doing, But this comes from my last little behind the scenes vlog I did. |

| Tom | Be sure to post your stuff on YouTube, Liza, we will be sure to watch and comment on it. For me, the best way I learn is doing and reviewing; don’t be afraid to make mistakes and don’t get too ahead of yourself, just keep going, one step at a time. |
