| Althis | There were six gods, each controlling their world. The ancient people, the ithyana, used to be able to cross to different worlds using magic. Each was supposed to be blessed by their patron god, where they were born. At night, the gods (seen as the planets) were visible above. The gods lived amongst their people, each one, a master at their own ability. Ocealyth, was a bright jovian, orange in color. His people were the “Defenders”, known to be able to materialize barriers from the ether, from any kind of material that they chose. Caelis was a small terra moon (being much like earth). The people of Caelis are known as “Binders”, able to bring objects from the Darkness and banish them back at will. The abilities vary among the Binders, as it is a lifelong skill to master how many objects to bind, and how long it takes to materialize them. The Darkness is the unknown. It’s also known as the “Abyss”. Ithyana Binders were known to carry swords in the Darkness, and call them to their hands during battles. Isithula, a mostly water moon, was home to the “Shifters”, able to shift their bodies into varying forms. They could become anything the mind imagined, but it would take time. They spend their lives mastering one or two shapes, trying to reduce the time it took to change. Luchess, a sandy desert moon, was home to the “Callers”, those that could call life into an inanimate object. They made golems and toys, bringing animation to them to do various things. Master Callers could have a few objects at any one time. Callers can not affect other Called objects. Venucha was the sun, a bright orange star far away from Ocealyth and his moons. She had a chosen few known as “Believers”. The Believers are extremely few in number, as they were hunted in killed en mass in the years previous. They can bend the fabric of known reality, able to shift and bend what is to what they want. However, it has devastating effects on the person. The Believers are known to be sick constantly. They also tend to be very happy, pleasant people, as a depressed Believer can be powerful and destructive. Last, are the children of Magvith, a lonely desolate ice planet, long lost to the ithyana. When history was lost, the ithyana disappeared as well. The children of Magvith were known to have caused the massacre of the Believers. The power they held was completely lost, and Magvith, in sorrow and shame, moved his world away from Ocealyth, binding his people to the icy outreaches of the known solar system, effectively cutting them off from everyone and everything else. After the massacre, the portals closed, the only ithyana left lived on Caelis. Their history was forgotten, the portals to the other worlds were lost. The peoples mixed and mingled, their blessings forgotten and viewed as destructive and evil, were lost as well. Though some still have it, some still grasp for the forgotten blessings of the past. As each family line holds remnants of their ancestors, it is easy to guess who has what blessing. Except Magvith. No child of Magvith remains. Orphans are known as Magvith children, as it is a derogatory term. The one last bastion for the search for knowledge and the past is held a university on Caelis. There, they encourage blessings and their use, and to the research of the world around them. It has been through the university that steam power and flight have been developed. It is at the university that this story would begin. The class stood up and filed out of the room. The homework assignment was to find as much information from the Universities library about the ithyana and the children of Magvith. Most of the students grumbled at this, as the majority of them did not believe in the ancient ways, though most still used the powers, if only to a small degree. The university grounds at this time of the year were beautiful, as most trees were in bloom. Students sat around in small groups, chatting amongst themselves. It was a great day, one that was suddenly doomed to the library in search of information… Character sheet– Please note that I will write the only Believer (Venucha goddess), and I need a Magvith child (orphan) who will stay with the story until the end.

| Althis | Story information (Will update as we go)– Character sheet– User name: jet1kyo User name: elexea User name: luckystar5 / 紅いロフトバード Age: 20 Character name: Valkyrie Myvaerth Gender: Female Description: She’s always been a thin girl. Thin, with frigid ice blue eyes, shoulder-length raven hair, and a pale complexion that often betrayed her to others who avoided her like the plague. She wears simple, often somewhat ragged, and mix-matched clothing she’d stolen from her orphanage long ago, her favourite stories, and ignorant classmates. Her shoes are tattered and wrecked, her only pieces of jewelry — ancient (and very stereotypical) Magvith-style icicle earrings and a frostbitten broken heart necklace — sag against her frail frame, and her most precious item, a small velvet ribbon she tied into her hair, was adorned with three small, round, and hollow baby crow skulls. Background: Valkyrie is the only survivor of the Myvaerth family mansion fire. Once a wealthy family entrusted with money, power, and title, the Myvaerth parents’ good luck immediately started to run out shortly after the birth of their first (and only) daughter, Valkyrie. Only a year after her birth, her father, Thane and ruler of a small, eastern province on Caelis, contracted a serious mental disease from an unknown source. Doctors across the planet tried to cure him, but in the end, the poor man died at the young age of 37. His wife, Valkyrie’s mother, now rid of her husband and, according to everyone who knew her at the time, overcome with greed, emptied her late husband’s bank accounts, sold all of his things, invited her sister and brother-in-law to the house, and fled one night to never be heard from again, leaving Valkyrie in the care of her aunt. Her aunt, a sweet and quiet woman, loved Valkyrie very much despite being left with the task of caring for her, and immediately took charge of being the newborn’s caretaker. Shortly afterwards, however, a mysterious fire ignited in the mansion library on one particularly frigid and dreary night which burned the entire house, yard, and property to the ground. The only thing left standing was a reinforced steel crib and a little baby girl. When authorities arrived, Valkyrie was taken to St. Admauld’s, a dismal local orphanage, where she was raised ever since the fragile age of a year and a half. Given the earlier fame of her family name, Valkyrie attracted a lot of unwanted negative attention as a youth, and as more and more people became fascinated in the story of the family fire, more and more journalists, authors, and even politicians began to blame Valkyrie, the orphan, for the tragedies that had occurred in her homestead, some even going as far as to accuse her of setting the fire that killed her aunt and uncle, even at such a young age. The public knows her as the spitting image of evil, the cursed child of Magvith, the Magvith orphan of all Magvith orphans. Patron god: Magvith User name: sosoemocat (Grace u.) User name: zela Background: Kade’s family was normal. Nothing ever happened to any of her two brothers or herself besides a few scrapes and bruises. Her father owned a weapons and armor shop where he sold some of the best armor, which he made in the forge in the back of the shop, as well as things he bought and traded. He was an incredibly wise man when it came to these matters, and the matters of raising his two sons and a daughter with his wife. Kade’s mom spent her time teaching her children what she thought was important in life. The key thing being to think for themselves. Kade and her brothers helped in the shop. Anything from bartering with customers to gathering smithing materials to even helping with armor. The family never acknowledged the histories, and the legends of the special abilities, and any conversation the children would bring up was discouraged and ignored. Nothing more than a twisted tale. Patron god: Isithula Other (if applicable): Never seen without her thin silver necklace. The chain is just visible on her collarbones, the pendant of a fox usually hidden beneath her shirt.

| Althis | Seth Vechess, one of three Believers that attended the University, raised himself off the wall he was leaning on. He was watching a particular class of history students file out of a room. Professor Ulgard had once again trumped his students, by the sound of the grumbling. He shook his head then stepped in front of the group, clearing his voice, he smiled at everyone. “Did Professor Ulgard assign the paper about the history and fall of the ithyana?” Some of the students grumbled a reply, to which Seth replied, “Well, I know a couple of travelers stories and quite a bit about the ithyana from the books in the library. Meet me at…” he trailed off and looked at the sun, which was high noon, “Roughly when the sun hits the edge of the horizon, at the Thomas Door, and I will give a compilation lecture. It should get you through that horrid essay.” With that, and a cheerful wave, Seth watched the students grumble away from him. Some made gestures, as a Believer was uncommon and usually unwanted. He walked over to a tree and held out a finger, the air bled a little light as he used his mind to bend reality. The light followed the path of his finger as he gently wrote a note to himself up the sleeve of the coat he was wearing on the cool spring morning. The words, written in an ancient dead language he had memorized from an old tome found int he library basement, seemed like patterns as he wrote them up his arm. Magvith lecture, dusk, Thomas Door, it read. He smiled at his handiwork, then decided to change its color. to black, a stark contrast to the white coat he was wearing. I should not use it for simple things, he though to himself, looking up into the University quad, a park-like square in the center of campus. Several people were staring at him, to which he smiled and waved cheerfully. He looked up, to see some people coming towards him, probably students from the professors class. |

| Elexea | Victoria Eiscla was sitting in Professor Ulgard’s history class, and trying very hard not to doze off. Her friend Anna already had her head down on the desk and was snoring softly. She was glad they sat near the back, otherwise they’d surely get in trouble. Tor had a journal balanced in her lap and she tried to take notes on what the Professor was explaining, but she barely understood it at all. She hated history, but it was the only ‘academic’ subject she had any hope of passing, so her father had insisted she took it. When the professor called for the end of class, Tor jotted down information about the essay they had been set and let out a quiet groan. “I hate the ithyana.” Anna suddenly sat up. “Me too. Wait, what?” Victoria approached the Believer warily, not really sure what to expect. Usually she would have avoided him at all costs, but she really needed his help… “Hi?” She said, giving him a small smile when she saw he was looking at her. “I’m Victoria Eiscla; in Professor Ulgard’s history class. Not gonna lie, I could use your help.” |

| Althis | Seth smiled and extended his hand, “Seth Vechess, I am pleased to meet you Victoria.” He smiled, turning a bit red. “Professor Ulgard always assigns this essay in the beginning of his spring semester. One of his students would give a compilation lecture, but he moved on. But I have all of the information that the professor is looking for in that essay, but in one convenient place,” Seth tapped his temple with one finger. His glance shifted away from the two girls, the smile faintly shifting from his face. In a moment, his gaze was back and he was smiling again. “Ah, well, I hope you can find the Thomas Door. Some students know it as the… um…” He snapped his fingers, trying to remember, then stopped. Seth held one hand up, palm towards the sky, then with the other hand he seemed to pinch the air above his palm. A hazy picture of the large stone arch in front of the university appeared. It was the center for a small circular plaza. Most people avoided it, but everyone passed by it to get into the university. The arch was made of black stone, slightly larger than a doorway, with a large blue stone inset on the top. Uplifting wings rose from around that stone. “The ‘Entrance Arch’ is what its called,” Anna said. The picture faded as Seth closed his hands like a book, “Yes, that’s it.” |

| Jet-Kyo | ((oh my crap. so long lol time to type i guess.)) Marcus taped the sides of his book. He loved history but the lectures by Professor Ulgard were horrific. The man’s voice was dull and monotone, and the constant grumbling of the other students made it no better. The class bell rang and he walked down to the teacher’s desk, pointing out a flaw in his lecture. That though Magvith’s children were rare, they existed still. This only got him sent away with a glare, as it normally did. He waved a hand and walked out, cracking his knuckles in his comfortable gloves. Noticing the Believer explain that he had the information as well, Marcus thought it would be a good idea to see what he knew. He probably had similar information, but getting more wouldn’t hurt. He followed two girls to talk to him. Seth Vechess. Interesting name. Somewhat.. familiar? He shrugged it off, at least until he saw him in-act his ability. After seeing him close the illusion like a book was when he recognized Seth as a visitor when he was younger, and Marcus clapped. “Wonderful,” he laughed, “Just wonderful. I’ll look forward to hearing the lecture, believer.” |

| Grace U. | Frost sat on a branch broadly as she watched the wining history kids. It was they same as every year, different kids of course but same assessment and they same reaction to it. But she know that most of them wed do well they always did. A smile speared arose her face as something new happened, a boy walked over to the crowed of kids he seemed to be offering help. That had never happen before. She liked this boy he was different from the rest. She counted to watch as he came to stand under her tree. Some girl’s came over to talk to him. Then he did something she didn’t think she ever see. He used the power of a Believer. “Your a Believer?” She called down to him. |
| January 5, 2012 at 6:24 pm #16269 | |
| Elexea | Tor took Seth’s hand and shook it, giving him a polite smile as she did so. “You can call me Tor if you like. Everybody else does.” She nodded at his statement about Professor Ulgard. “I wish that wasn’t the case. It’s difficult to get an understanding of the ithyana when he’s droning. People that don’t have outside help are screwed. I’m kind of shocked more people didn’t take your offer.” Other than herself and Anna, there were a couple of other boys and a few girls joining the group. Pitiful really, considering how big the class was. She watched the blurred image of the arch, but didn’t recognise it as the Thomas Door. “The Entrance Arch, it’s called.” Anna said stiffly. Her friend looked like she’d eaten something sour, and stepped a little closer to Tor to whisper in her ear. “The Magvith from class followed us. We should go. Now.” |
| January 5, 2012 at 8:45 pm #16466 | |
| Althis | Seth smiled, “It’s alright. I will see you later, Tor.” The group drifted apart for a moment, and Seth watched them go. Except for the girl in the tree, who really didn’t pull her eyes off of him. He looked at her and smiled his cheerful smile. “Yes, I am a Believer.” The smile stopped, he felt prickles of ice as someone was watching him. He looked over to see a frail girl with black hair watching him. Anna had described her as the “Magvith,” a derogatory term that even he wouldn’t have expected. Time paused for a moment as they locked eyes, and Seth could almost feel the hatred. He opened his mouth, as if to say something, but stopped. The moment stopped, their eyes drifted apart, and she walked away. Seth just stood, his mouth feeling like it was full of cotton. Something about her unsettled him, but some irresistible urge to talk to her resided in his stomach, but instead of following her, he shook his head and walked away, towards the library to do a little touching up on his history. Dusk, when the story begins. The sun was just barely setting as Seth entered the circle around the Entrance Arch, or the Thomas Door, as he knew it. The door was made from black stone, one piece that framed a door, just big enough to fit two people across. The top was mounted by a singular blue orb, with black wings that extended into the heavens. The most curious thing about it was that it was warm to the touch, as Seth realized when he put his hand on it. He had come here often to sit and ponder. The “Entrance Arch” was a misnaming of an ancient artifact of the ithyana. The University had covered up it’s past by just saying that they erected it when the University of Caelis was built, but that was not true. Legends spoke that the Thomas Door was a portal, the first portal, made by the inventor Thomas Harrow that bridged from Caelis to the beyond. Shaking his head, Seth smiled and let out his breath slowly. Myths and legends of the ithyana swirled in his head, almost too many of them to really be any importance. Fairy tales to fact, legends to myths to ghost stories, the land was riddled with the ithyana. Too many to discard it all as fake, but not enough to prove it to be real. People started to show up, in ones or twos. The door itself was in the center of a circle, two steps into the ground, leaving ample space for people to sit like a small amphitheater. Seth reached out his finger and began to write, letting the air bleed light. Some people stared at him as he began to write on the air itself. First, notes, in the ancient ithyana language, to himself. Just an outline. Caelis – Binders; Ocealyth – Defenders; Isithula – Shifters; Luchess – Callers; Venucha – Believers; Magvith – He stopped writing, letting his hand fall to his side. While his back was to the people assembled, he could see through the door, straight at the girl that was called “Magvith.” Unknown, he finished, then turned to begin his lecture. All those assembled began to write as he cleared his voice. Something about giving a lecture made him feel good inside. Seth’s voice came out small at first, but he kept going. He began to speak of this and that, pulling legends, tales, stories, facts from his memory to assemble them into thoughts and points for the students. With his hands, he animated the stories with words, and sometimes images. He told the story of the ithyana in several ways, each one, a composite of everything he knew, and it seemed to be holding everyone’s attention. Coming to a close, Seth began to write the sources for all of his information, crossing off his notes that he wrote in the beginning. Then it was over. Like a great weight bearing down, he suddenly felt a whole lot more tired than he remembered. The use of his powers was taking its toll, but at least I will sleep well tonight. A cheerful smile one again crossed his face. The remaining people seemed to be the ones that he had talked to earlier. Not many else remained. Except… There was a couple students. They did not seem very happy, in fact, Seth didn’t really remember them sitting through the lecture at all. There were three of them, all standing, facing him. Believer’s weren’t exactly popular, and the use of his powers publicly was going to probably cost him with some of the more conservative people. One of the three stepped forward, removing his gloves. “Hello, Seth,” his voice was low. Seth took a deep breath, letting it out slowly. The man in front of him seemed to liquify, changing into a werewolf. A Shifter, Isithula. Seth clenched his hands, knowing that for the most part he was defenseless, save for a small dagger which he had concealed in his coat. The Isithula made a move, Seth reached into his coat and drew the small knife. It seemed almost pitiful compared to the wolf in front of him. The Isithula lunged, and Seth took a step back and threw the knife into its arm. The Isithula stopped and howled as the blade bit deep into his arm; a minor wound. But Seth lost his balance, falling straight into the open door. For a moment, it almost seemed like the air was holding up his weight… Then it shattered, like a pane of glass. The air behind Seth gave way as he fell to the ground, pieces of what appeared to be the space between the door frame falling like broken glass, scattering all over the ground then evaporating before anyone could get a good look at it. Pieces of a picture written on the air, almost. Instead of falling onto the other side of the door, Seth disappeared completely. The Door had opened. The Isithula backed away, and the three fled. The gathered students stood outside the circle. If you looked into the door, you no longer saw the other side. In its place, you could see a stone platform, a circle quite like the one that was on Caelis. Lying on the ground, was Seth, but the sky above him was very different; orange. Orange mists seemed to flow through the door. Like a jigsaw puzzle, pieces began to appear around the edges of the door frame. “It’s closing!” Someone yelled, but Seth lay mostly unmoving, except for his rhythmic breathing. |

| Jet-Kyo | Marcus was one of the last few to arrive at the Thomas Gate, still reading his own notes while he walked there. Absentmindedly, he sat down next to the most unlikely people. The Magvith. He only looked up to see who it was for a moment, but immediately looked down again. He didn’t scoot away, he was sure she had enough to deal with already. Being an orphan was hard, but her family’s death and how it all happened, giving her this reputation. He couldn’t imagine. He didn’t realize he’d been sketching out his thoughts, and quickly turned the page. That is when he noticed the Believer’s writing. He recognized the dead language, but only able to make some of it out. He heard the Magvith scoff at the notes; she obviously knew how to read it. He let out a breath and kept watching. The lecture was well done as it progressed. The stories were accurate, well told and interesting. Marcus was genuinely surprised at how well the believer was holding his attention. He looked down at his book to write some more notes, and extra thoughts he had. He must not have paid attention to the time it took, as when he looked up there was a Shifter attacking him. Before he had a chance to move, there was orange smoke and shattered pieces of the door. Then the Magvith was suddenly pushing and kicking him into the door. “It’s closing!” Marcus exclaimed, jumping out of his seat. He bolted down as fast as he could, not making out whatever the girl was saying to the unconscious believer, hoping he’d make it in time to either pull them out or to make it into the portal as well. | Alex | Kade sat quietly throughout the professor’s awful lecture, contenting herself with stolen glances out the window beside her. It was unfortunate that she had waited so long to take the class. She thought it would be incredibly hard, but it was mostly just boring. She readjusted the thin gloves on her slender hands, pulling at the tipless fingers of it, making them sit perfectly on her hands. The day was gorgeous. She knew she was zoning out again, but the grumbles of the younger students around her drew her attention to the board, Figures he would assign a ridiculous essay tonight. I already have a ton of work to start, and I need to practice tonight… With a sigh, she scribbled down what she would need for the essay, then calmly waited for the class to be dismissed. Five minutes later, she watched as the class filed out the door, the sleeping girl and her friend, followed by the guy that liked inconsistencies. He would learn eventually to stop pointing them out, the teachers never learned. |

| Elexea | Tor rode the rail back to her home in the blindingly white Upper Caelis. Her parents had designed most of the buildings around there, and they were all marked with minute “Eiscla” motifs so everyone would know it. After waving goodbye to her friends at the station, she walked for a few minutes to reach her house. It was essentially the ivory tower people often joked about. “Mum?” She called as she pushed through the front door. After a few minutes the housekeeper came bustling out of the kitchen to greet her. “Hi Tori, sweetie. Your parents have gone out to late lunch with a client and won’t be back ’til later. How was your day?” *_*_*_* “It’s cold.” Anna complained, pulling her coat tighter around herself. When the talk finished, Tor returned her notes and pen to the darkness. They were only small things, so it was easy enough to do. And then she saw the men. Students? They were advancing on Seth and all of a sudden they were fighting. Anna was tugging at her sleeve. “Tor, we have to go. They’re fighting, we’ll get in trouble!” |

| Althis | Orange. It was such an odd color for a sky. Seth was being drug through something, but all he could see was the darkening orange sky that wrapped around his view. He counted the people that followed him through. There was Marcus and Tor, and the Magvith girl, who’s name he didn’t even know. He could feel the air, warm, warmer than it had been a minute ago. Something wasn’t entirely right, his vision swam slightly as he tried to regain his breath. The group around him was suddenly looking up and around, at the view. Taking the moment to catch his breath, Seth gently sat up. “Beautiful, right?” He said softly, to which several people murmured a reply. The door behind them had closed, he had watched it collect itself back to it’s original state. Do they know that they are trapped here, with me? To his side, Tor whispered something, and Seth smiled. He stood up and offered his hand, which she politely took. “I guess I should be the first to guess that this is Ocealyth, judging by the vibrant orange of the sky,” Seth said, mildly. “If you wish to contest my argument, then please tell me which planet that is, if it is not Caelis.” He let light point from his finger, extending towards the horizon, where a moon was visible. Land, water, clouds were all scattered across its surface. Movement caught Seth’s eye, something to the side. For the first time, Seth actually stopped to look around at his surroundings. The Door was in the center of a circle, just like it had been on the other side, except the door’s jewel was a large orange stone. Beyond the circle lay the horizon, as if the world just fell away, leaving a bright orange horizon in all directions. The edge of the circle was the edge of something, they must be on a spire. Seth walked to the edge and peered over. The act gave him sudden vertigo as he realized that the rock that they stood on was floating. There was no ground below. The movement he saw was a distant cloud moving in the winds. Seth traced the circle as the others began to move about, he was not really paying attention to them. The edges of the circle were all the same: sheer cliff faces, then a drop into the clouds. Making his way to the other side, Seth found a small stairway that curled around and disappeared into the rock they were standing on. He looked up, towards the horizon, and then he saw it. Peaking above the clouds where small islands, hundreds of them. The one they stood on was the tallest, making it so that they could not see any others. The cloud layer seemed to be rising. That was the movement that caught his eye. A couple island tops vanished. “We need to move, follow me,” then Seth disappeared over the side and down the stairs. The door that led into the rock face was carved, very beautifully. Aside from the two brass handles, as it was a double door, it was unadorned with anything but carvings. He pulled on a handle, gently believing there was no lock. After a moment, the door gave in, letting him into a small hall. It was also carved from stone, with long arches that supported the roof. Tables, with benches, were lined up in between the arches, with a long woven rug in the middle of the room. A fireplace sat in one corner. Somehow, the whole room reminded him of all the stories of fictional dwarves, mountain carvers. He smiled as everyone filed into the room. “Well. This will be an adventure!” |

| Grace U. | Forest stood in the shadows watching as all was. She grip tightened on her backpack satrap as she relized she din’t belong hear. She had no place to go to the lector before this and she shouldn’t of flowed they older kids though the portal. She watched as the kids flowed the believer down the steps of a new world. Did she have any right to flow theme? Did she rely have a choice not to? She sighed making up her mind as the last few students made there way done the steps. She slide in to the group flowing but not rely becoming a part of it. But there was nothing new in that. |

| Jet-Kyo | Marcus looked up at the orange sky in awe. He felt breathless. It was so much more magnificant then his sketches. He heard Seth mention it’s beauty. Beautiful didn’t even begin to capture this place. He breathed in the fresh air of this floating monolith they stood on. He could stare out into this forever. The portal closed, but Marcus didn’t care. He didn’t have anything to go back to. He wanted to use his powers, if only to use them on his patron god’s planet. Marcus looked around at the amazing floating peices of land, the drifting and speeding clouds. This was just fantastic. He looked out toward the planet Cealis, and chuckled slightly. He loved the stories, and they’re all true. They must be. Marcus followed the believer silently, feeling the walls, caressing the carvings and sketching a few of them down. He was simply amazed at it all. His hand fell into a small grove. Turning, he saw it was the shape of a human hand print. There were four, one pair about his size, and the other the size of maybe a child. He took his hand off the stones, this place was special and he was not going to mess it up. As the walked threw the doorway in the wall, he couldn’t keep his eyes off the beautiful sculptures. When he saw the large hall like room, he immediately began to sketch. |

| Althis | ((Hey guys, no worries. Take your time to post, just don’t forget about the story! Honestly, I’ve been really busy as well. Life moves on, though. I’m going to slow down the story a bit to allow character development. Also, I wrote this entire thing off my phone. Total feat of persistence.) Seth stopped inside the hall, just looking at it all. There was surprisingly little dust for a place that seemed to be unused for what appeared to be a long time. “You all are here with me, whether it be chance or on purpose. This is Ocealyth, the patron planet of Defenders.” He sat on a bench by one of the tables. “I’m Seth Vechess, I am a Venuchan child, a Believer. I can bend reality, but to much cost to my health. This is reality. Not a bending. I couldn’t have dreamed this up, let alone make it real. I don’t know how we got here, and I don’t know how we can get back. By the looks of it, night is falling. Ocealyth was known, in the legends, to be a place where night time was spent indoors. And now it makes sense. You go outside at night and the wind storms will take you off the island, and we definitely can’t save you then.” Seth leaned back, then turned slightly red. When had he become comfortable talking in front of groups? “We will be staying the night here, I guess. Unless anyone else has any better ideas?” Seth said, trying to be cheerful. |

| Jet-Kyo | “I know,” smiled Marcus at the mention of his patron god, “I’m a deffender. This place is beautiful.” he looked at the walls and continued to sketch, writting his thought. /I’m in my ancestors’ home! Ocealyth! This place is amazing. The walls have been masterfully carved, i can’t even put it to words../ he looked around again. /I see lots of things that are written or carved in either another language or just amazing design. I believe them to be to important for me to touch. I found hand print of either a father and son.. or.. maybe someone more important even. This place almost seems familiar../ his writing was interrupted as someone spoke and Seth said they would be staying there for the night. The girl was being foolish, even if she was strong, she was light as a feather. She’d be swept off. He sighed, but was alright. He’d rather not be blown away in the wind. Or worse, lose his notes! He began sketching those around him. First he quickly drew Seth. Then he began to slowly sketch Valkyrie, the Child of Magvith. He felt people walking up behind him and he quickly shut his book without letting them see it’s contents. He tapped his pencil on the book impatiently. It wasn’t on purpose, he just didn’t like people watching over his shoulder.

| Alex | Kade stared at the clouds and the sky surrounding her, not daring to walk to the edge. The fear of falling nearly paralyzed her. All it would take would be a strong gust of wind and she would be plummeting, probably flailing and screaming in an embarrassing manner. Instead, she looked at those around her, surprised by the group that had followed Seth through the Gate, maybe they wanted to escape, or maybe they wanted an adventure. She just wanted to learn. Her brain filtered through the fact about Ocealyth. Bits of research from her multiple essays popping into her head. Why did the Gate suddenly open? OH MY GOD. The stories are really true. I mean, I knew they were most likely true, but this is PROOF! She grinned to herself, only realizing that there was a way down to relative safety when she was the only one standing on the stone island. She scurried to the stairs, and slowly made her way to the room, fearing the unknown abyss inches away from her. Why are there no railings? I mean really. She bumped into the back of the boy from her class, the one who had corrected the teacher, “Sorry!” She mumbled, stepping to the side, her eyes falling momentarily on the closed book in his hands. She wanted to introduce herself, but kept quiet. She heard him introduce himself as a child of Ocealyth. She smiled. He was incredibly lucky to visit this planet. She grinned back at him before her attention was drawn to the Magvith girl, Valkyrie. She seemed crazed, suggesting leaving a relatively safe place. No thank you, I prefer not falling to my death. As a sign of her decision, Kade made her way to a bench near the front of the group, almost across from Seth and sat, “I’m sorry Valkyrie, but I’m staying right here. I’ll take my chances. As for Seth being the leader, who said he was? He just seems to know his facts quite well. I also feel that he’s reasonable and will listen to us if we have concerns.” She smiled as she pulled her bag onto her lap, and then pulled her feet up under her, “I’m Kade, by the way.” She announced to the group. |

| Elexea | Ocealyth was absolutely beautiful. Or at least the small portion of it Tor could see was. She gratefully accepted Seth’s hand and got back to her feet, taking her time to gaze at her exquisite surroundings. The sky… it was just incredible. This was all she had ever wanted, to leave Caelis, find adventure in other places and show everyone that she didn’t need her parents’ money to get by in life. She could do what she wanted, see all there was to see. “This is mad. It’s wonderful!” She declared. Seeing that the others were leaving, Tor gave herself a mental shake and jogged to catch up with them. She ran her fingers over the intricate carvings on the walls, wondering what they meant, if anything. She stepped into the hall and stood near the quiet girl that sat a couple of seats away from herself and Anna in History class. The Magvith girl, Valkyrie, had started up a tirade against Seth. “Are you trying to scare us into coming with you? We can’t leave, Seth said the wind would carry us off if we tried. There’s more exploring to be done here, and I don’t want to waste this opportunity by charging off into a storm willy-nilly.” Tor said, lifting herself up to sit on one of the tables. “I’m Victoria Eiscla- Tor, preferably- and I’m a daughter of Caelis.” |

| Althis | Seth watched as Valkyrie made a statement, then disappear outside. One by one, people took a seat at the tables and introduced themselves. He paused, worried about Valkyrie, but he figured that she could take care of herself. Tor, Marcus, Kade, Valkyrie, and one more who was following, but really didn’t seem interested in talking to the group. To each, their own, Seth thought. Valkyrie had proposed that he was the leader of this group, but by no means was he an actual leader. It just wasn’t what he did. Valkyrie entered the room again and hid in a corner, seemingly trying to hide from everyone. Seth stood up and walked over to the fireplace. The sun was going down, and the light was diminishing. Kneeling, Seth found wood, unburned. It was an odd thing to have wood in a fireplace. Seth checked the chimney quickly, making sure nothing was blocking the exit of smoke, then he closed his eyes and bent reality, heating the wood until it lit. The fire began to crackle lightly, spreading warmth and light in the room. He stood up and walked over to where Valkyrie sat, her arms hiding her face. “Are you alright?” He asked, gently. |
| January 9, 2012 at 7:12 am #24311 | |
| Althis | There was one moment when Valkyrie’s blue eyes met Seth’s, and it was a moment that he was just really unsure what to say. “So you knew about the Thomas Door,” she paused, hesitating, then continued, “I guess I was surprised… I didn’t think anyone else at our school would have bothered to take our histories as seriously as I do.” “Why do you care, anyway?” she asked bitterly. “Aren’t you a Venuchan? Aren’t you proud of what your race did to mine?” A smile flickered across Seth’s face, as he turned and sat next to her, letting out a sigh as he did. “First of all, my father taught me all of the legends that he knew. He was a traveling troubadour for the majority of his life, learning all of the ancient tales that he could find to sort out the past.” Seth’s deep brown eyes seemed to lose focus as he stared into the distance. Somewhere nearby, people were talking, but that didn’t seem to matter, as he was lost in thought for a moment. His voice seemed to travel from somewhere inside of his body as he began to sing, very beautifully. “Thomas Harrow was a man of pride, Thomas challenged e’ry man a duel, Except one day, Thomas was defeated, Seth stopped, letting the song carry itself into the room. After a moment, he continued, “There are something like thirty seven verses and variations on that song, speaking of Thomas Harrow and his blade. The man that eventually beat him, some say, was Caelis himself.” Seth’s vision began to clear up as he began to refocus on the conversation at hand. “But I am not sure, myself. Anyways, I know a lot about the legends of old from my father, as he taught me everything he knew. He felt it was important that a Believer should know his past, and tread carefully in his future.” Seth turned to Valkyrie, “Look, as far as common history goes, the Magvith massacred the Believers, yet you said that the Believers massacred the Magvith. I have only heard one myth about that.” An odd sensation of confusion washed over Seth, “No, I am not proud of our past, if that be the case. I couldn’t imagine doing such a thing. I don’t know who’s right on this, as the ithyana speak no more. History is such an odd subject, as it so easily gets messed up. Who knows what’s right, Val?” Pain washed over him for a moment. Seth clutched his side, then began a fit of coughing. He gasped a couple breaths of air, and just pulled his arms around his knees, mimicking Valkyrie. “It’s a curse. Not a blessing, Val. A Believer is cursed in their life. Every moment, awake or asleep, I can change everything around me. Nothing is constant. I can do anything, but at the cost of my health. I have changed too much today, and I can feel it tearing at me.” With that, he rested his head on his knees. |

| Jet-Kyo | Marcus barely noticed as Valkyrie walked back inside, as he had finished sketching her. But he noticed her slump in the corner. He looked around the room, looking for a new sketch. Kade. He began to sketch her, but it was getting darker, and he could see less. He let out a frustrated sigh, but put his book down. He watched Seth get up to go light the fire, and as Seth walked over to Valkyrie, he went to the fire place. He smiled, and began making little bubbles, sucking up smoke or fire then releasing it. He chuckled, but stopped as someone walked over. Not only was he abusing his power, but he was being foolish. He heard Seth singing about Thomas, but the song soon faded and he sat warmly at the fire place. He turned to see Kade, and smiled. He said nothing, as he was terrible at starting conversations other then something other people would concider boring. He kept looking at the walls as Kade sat down when he realized he’d left his book by the wall..

| Alex | Kade sat, her back to a wall, her feet stretched in front of her as she watched everyone. She had introduced herself, and besides that, she didn’t have much to say as the others were distracted with their own thoughts. She turned her gaze from the people to the fireplace once Seth had lit it. She pulled her jacket closed with a small shiver and closed her eyes, simply listening to everyone, specifically to the murmured tones of Seth and Val. |

| Jet-Kyo | Marcus gasped, snatching his book back and putting it on his lap. Kade sat with her back to the fire place as she had handed it to him, “They way you snapped the book shut before, you may want to keep this with you. The urge to look in it is hard to ignore.” She paused a few moments, “What’s it like, walking the planet of your ancestors?” A small, awkward pause, “Hello.” She laughed lightly, “This conversation is happening in the wrong order, but I trust you can figure out the correct order so I don’t have to repeat it.” Marcus laughed, “I’m sorry, I’m usually no good at talking to people..” he scratched his head, “It’s.. it’s hard to put into words.. There’s just an overwhelming sense of awe.. It’s so much better then the stories. Before my father died, he would brag about our home. He thought it was the best place in the world, and I don’t think he even was grasping the beauty of it.” after a pause, he slapped his forehead, “And thank you for my book back!” he shook his head, feeling a little stupid. He listened to Kade as she began to speak again, but his eyes kept studying the walls. As he looked at the intricate designs on the ceiling and walls, he looked back to his book. He smiled, “Do you want to see something?” he tapped his book lightly with his pen. |

| Alex | Kade grinned, “Well, I’m quite good at talking to people, so we balance each other out.” She lapsed into momentary silence. The look in his eye told her he was far away from the conversation. Her words trailed off lightly, but she wasn’t one to be discouraged. She took the time to appreciate his happiness, his connection he felt. She could only hope that one day she would be able to completely understand. She nodded, “This place is indeed quite beautiful, the books certainly don’t do it justice.” She was talking although Kade wasn’t sure that she was being heard. She didn’t mind, though. It kept her mind busy. Too busy to over analyze everything in the room, which she tended to do quite often. “You’re quite welcome for your book back.” She smiled vaguely as she inched closer to the fire, turning a bit towards Marcus, trying to heat her sides. At the mention of him showing her something and tapping the book she sat up straighter in interest, “I would love to!” Her voice was bright, filled with excitement. |

| Elexea | Tor moved closer to the fire, away from Seth and Valkyrie. She had no problem with the Believer, he seemed like a genuinely nice person, if a little… almost childlike in his pursuits. Valkyrie on the other hand… it wasn’t that she was a Magvith. Tor wasn’t that petty, but the girl seemed kind of standoffish, and that was a quality she definitely didn’t appreciate in a person. She minutely shook her head and pulled a book out of the dark. It wasn’t her usual notebook, it was a beautiful leather-bound affair, with runes etched into the cover. She had been saving it. For the adventures she was going to have. Tor began to pull out other bits and pieces she’d kept- a few pens, a jar, a bottle of water, a cushion from the sofa in her house that had supposedly been destroyed by the cat. She then lay on her stomach and spread open the first pages. Tor opened the cap of the bright orange pen and dipped it in the water she’d poured in to the jar, using it as a makeshift paint brush. She couldn’t draw to save her life, but she wanted to remember that remarkable orange sky… then she began to describe her surroundings and her companions, careful not to be too specific with names and such. Maybe she would make a novel out of this experience one day, if all went to plan. |

| Jet-Kyo | “I never show anyone my sketch book,” he said, “But this is the weirdest thing and I figured I should show.. somebody. See the designs on the walls? and on the fire place?” he pointed with his pen and began flipping threw his book. You can see lots of scribbles and notes and parts of drawings, most of which look unfinished, when he opens a page that looks exactly like the wall in front of them. “I drew this about a year ago. I fell asleep in front of the Thomas Door, and had a dream that I was in front of the fire place. When I woke up, I jotted all of it down, as best as I could remember.” He looked around for a moment and shook his head, placing his hand on the floor, he slowly brought it up to make a platform and put his book there, opened to the page of the fire place. He was silent again, listening to her comments, but still not really there. He started whistling lightly “the song of Ocealyth”. He couldn’t remember the words to save his life, but it was such a wonderful tune. He noticed the other girl, Tor, pull out a sketch book as she got closer to the fire place. He turned back to Kade and took a breath. “You can look threw it if you want,” he said reluctantly, “Just don’t read the notes that aren’t on the pictures. Ok?” he layed down and shut his eyes. The stand for the book would disappear once she took it off the stand, so he wouldn’t worry about keeping it there to long. ((if i should wait longer to post I will, i guess I’m just getting caught up in the story lol tell me if I should |

| Alex | Kade quietly listened as Marcus talked about his book. She was busy watching the way the firelight danced across his features. The way it seemed to light his eyes from the inside, making it look like they were bright with excitement. She smiled as he let her catch glimpses of pictures throughout the book until he stopped on the page he obviously had intended to show her. The exact room they were sitting in, sketched months before, a small date in the corner proved it. She frowned a bit. How was that even possible? He hadn’t been positive this place even existed before today. She glanced up from the book as she watched Tor, slightly jealous that she only had notebooks in her bag. School notebooks at that. She watched as she again and again pulled things from the Darkness. She knew the gift of Tor’s people, but had never seen it up close. It was extraordinary. All Kade could do was turn into a fox rather quickly, and very slowly, and slightly painfully a few other creatures. Nothing really important. At the moment, she was tempted to show others, but she had purposely not told them her gift. It wasn’t anything special or important. She was captivated by the bright orange Tor was painting across the pages, how well it matched the sky outside. Kade snapped her attention back to Marcus as he set his book on top of a stone pillar that hadn’t been there before, vaguely heard his instructions before he curled up and went to sleep. She moved quietly to the side of the mantle, a foot slipping and unintentionally kicking Marcus’s leg. Gently, Kade lifted the book off the pillar, which began descending into the ground again. She rearranged the mid-knee canary yellow skirt she wore over her legs, adding a layer to the deep brown tights and boots, making her feel snuggly and warm. With great delicacy, like the pages would crumble beneath her long, slender fingers, she began flipping through the book. From beginning to end. The sketches were beautiful. Perfect replications of the models. She recognized the hall where they had history class together, a few sketches of Tor and Val, and various other students from the class, interspersed with pages of drawings from this world. He had obviously seen it a lot in daydreams and dreams. Each picture was accompanied by some note, explaining his thoughts, his feelings, the way he saw things. It was all beautiful. Finally, she came across the first white page with just writing on it. Kade glanced to the sleeping form, then back to the book. He had requested that she not read it, but she wanted to. It’s not what friends do… They don’t do the exact opposite of what they were asked to do. They listen and respect privacy. This guy is your friend now, you gotta respect him. On the other hand, he writes rather beautifully and honestly. You need to know more. When will you ever get this chance again? The mental debate continued for awhile as she leaned back and stared at the ceiling. “Fine.” She mumbled to herself, glancing down at the first few lines of text. She wished she hadn’t. Apparently not everything about him was cake and jam. She curled up on her side, mimicking his sleeping form, but she kept turning through the pages, looking at the pages she was allowed, sometimes not reading the text. She flipped to the last used page, a sketch of herself. She smirked, there was no way that sketch was accurate. The girl in the picture staring at the sky vaguely was much better than herself. She closed the book and held it close to her. Protecting it in a way, as she closed her eyes, hoping sleep would take her away. |
