((Jet, you can post as much as you like within a day, my “2 per day” is as Loftwing said, a recommendation. If you want to post back and forth with someone [which is amazing], go right ahead!! I think this is becoming amazing already. It’s almost real, when I read it.))

Seth opened his eyes, he was sitting on the floor next to Valkyrie, and it appeared as if everyone had fallen asleep, even himself. Which was odd, as Seth didn’t sleep all the night through most of the time. He stood up, and passed each person quietly. Despite not being fed for quite some time, the fire seemed to be going, its gentle rays casting out shadows that danced along the wall. Each person lay, and Seth wondered silently to himself if they knew what they were in for.

Ocealyth. The jovian. It was more beautiful than any of them had guessed. Seth smiled lightly, as normal as breathing to him. He walked to the hall’s door, putting an ear to it lightly, listening for any sounds of wind outside. Upon hearing nothing, he opened the door gently, into the cool night air. He made his way up the winding steps, back onto what would be the hall’s roof, where the Thomas Door stood, silent in the dark. The world was cast by a faint light from Caelis, who was high above in the night sky. The world around him was a dark blue orange mix that seemed unnatural.

Seth walked through the door, putting one hand on the dark frame. It was cool to the touch, which was slightly odd, though he thought little of it. He stopped on the far side, so that the stairs were directly behind him and sat, feet hanging into the open air. The world felt warm, like a summer’s evening, a contrast to Caelis’ cool spring air.

Time seemed to slow as he played the day back to himself. All the oddities that had happened, yet nothing pointed to why the door suddenly… opened. His eyes gazed outwards, but he was barely looking as Isithula tracked her course through the night sky. A feeling of loneliness passed over him, as all the people that were here, Valkyrie and he had little in the ways of friends, always at odds with someone for something that they could not control.

Seth sighed, and put his head in his hands, letting the warm breeze take away his cares, and his sorrows into the night.

((Never too late. I will write you in. Read up, [if you can, the whole thing] and I will put you in the story))

A noise started from behind Seth. He rose and turned around to face the blank doorway. No one was around, but something was making noise. He walked around the doorway, looking all over, but his search revealed nothing. When he stopped, the noise did, too. Seth turned around one more time to see a form of a person, laying on the ground.

The Door was not completely closed it seemed.

Seth knelt down by the new person, rolling them over. He had been at Seth’s presentation, but his name was being elusive. Maybe he hadn’t introduced himself. “Are you alright?” Seth asked, shaking the man’s shoulder. “Did you fall asleep at the door or something?”

Edwin woke up. He couldn’t really remember what had caused him to fall asleep in the first place. There was another person with him, shaking his shoulder. Edwin tried to concentrate on the face, but it slipped away elusively. He pushed himself up into a sitting position, his head pounding heavily. Edwin moaned as he clutched his skull. “I think… something hit my head,” he said stupidly, the world still spinning.
It was dark now, and it had been day before. Memories slowly started to flow back into his head, and he was able to concentrate enough to hear the person talking to him. “…asleep at the door or something?”
Door? Edwin thought back. He had been in lecture when strange things had started to happen. Something had shattered, and there was an orange mist…
“I don’t know,” he said, not sure if that had answered the boy’s question or not. The world had stopped spinning, but Edwin still wasn’t able to take in the implications of his surroundings. He had been in a classroom before, right? The familiar boy helped him to his feet, saying something else, but Edwin was hardly paying attention. “Where am I?” he finally wondered out loud.

((Sorry, have been very busy lately. Moving plot forward!))

Seth stood up, turning, listening. “You are on Ocealyth, the orange jovian.” He turned, smiled at the man on the ground, then continued, “Yes, as in the patron planet of the Defenders. I am Seth Vechess, a Believer.”

He waited for some mark of dislike or discomfort from the new guy, but he made none, so Seth walked around the circle, listening. An odd sound had caught his ear, one he couldn’t exactly put a finger on. Over in the distance, the sun was beginning to rise over the orange clouds. Then he saw it.

The first human life that he had seen on the floating islands of Ocealyth. An airship. And it was coming this way. The great balloon above the ship was white, with brown ropes tied around it. The ship itself was dark brown wood, with great white wings sticking off in various angles. All in all, it looked beautiful, but something wasn’t right about the ship. It was rather ragged. Torn in places, unmaintained.

Then it struck him. Seth heartily pulled the newcomer off the ground and wrapped his arm around the guy’s waist, half dragging, half walking down the steps into the hall where people were rising. “There is a ship, and airship coming this way. I think it may be pirates.”

Marcus got up, and he could hear the winds flying outside. It seemed that Seth had already gotten up, not many others were. He saw that Kade was still clinging his book and chuckled, she must have fallen asleep reading it. His fingers twitched, wanting to write his notes. He’d seen a huge ship in his dream. It was wonderful, flying sales and shinning hulls. He carefully peeled it from her arms, and created another rectangle of energy for it to sit on. He took a while to sketch this one, not even realizing that Kade had gotten up until he looked away. He turned and almost jumped up when Kade was looking over his shoulder, “Please. Please, don’t do that.” He let out a breath and finished his sketch. He waved good morning to a few others when he noticed Seth run down the stairs. “There is a ship, an airship coming this way. I think it may be pirates!”Marcus jumped out of his seat, the rectangle dispersing as he ran up the stairs. Careful not to touch the walls as he ran up, he skipped a couple steps, holding the door frame as he swung around it. He saw a new boy, who he wasn’t to concerned about. But the ship.. he held up his sketch book. It was just like it, only this one looked ruined and unattended. “…What happened..”

Seth shook his head, as Marcus came up beside him, followed closely by the others. “I don’t know, myself, but something does not bode right.”

Side by side, they stood as the others came up the stairs, watching the airship drift closer and closer. Seth turned to the assembled group. “If there are people on it, then we may have to fight for our lives. No one can tell exactly what may be on it, but it may be our only hope of finding other people,” he turned back to the drifting ship, “And maybe some answers.”

Kade slowly opened her eyes, realizing that she was the last of the group to wake. She blinked a few times then stood and stretched, feeling surprisingly well-rested after sleeping on a, very gorgeous but nonetheless stone, floor. She had realized upon waking that the book was no longer in her hands. She turned and saw Marcus sketching behind her. She didn’t look at the page, but rather at the wall in front of her. She remembered how he felt about people watching him, and if she was being honest, she didn’t care about the process so much as the finished product. She stood still, a gentle breeze wafting down the stairs and rustling the fabric of her skirt. In front of her, Marcus jumped, “Please don’t do that.” He mumbled to her, but she barely heard to respond, “My good man. I’m sorry. I must have zoned out. Honestly I haven’t a clue what you are drawing. Looking over shoulders is rude. I was studying that design.” She pointed at an intricate series of drawings all put inside a fist-sized circle midway up the wall directly in front of them, “Not whatever it is your drawing. No offense, but I don’t care. I’m sure it’s beautiful, but I would only look at a finished work you allow me to see.” She smiled at the boy, but before she could continue, Seth was at the stairs, spouting some nonsense about an airship. She followed him up the stairs, and watched, “I could get a closer look if you want.” Finally a chance to seem useful.

Edwin shook his head, both out of disbelief, and to clear his thoughts. Ocealyth? It was a myth – a fairy-tail. And the boy – Seth was his name? – thought he was a Believer. Edwin had heard the name tossed around before, but he had never taken it very seriously. There must be a logical explanation for all this. Yes, that was it. There was some scientific explanation for what had just happened. But Edwin wasn’t given a moment to think before Seth had yanked him to his feet, and pulled him down a winding staircase. “…an airship coming this way. I think it may be pirates.”
Pirates hadn’t been heard of in a while. Edwin wondered why they had turned up all of a sudden. Then the first term sunk in. Airship. As he looked around, he suddenly became aware of the fact that he was in the sky. Clouds floated around them, and stretched out to the horizon. Edwin was beginning to wonder if he wasn’t on a different planet after all.
Seth pulled Edwin around a corner, and they entered a door in the rock wall. Inside appeared to be a common room, filled with several other students that he recognized. They all seemed to have just woken up.
Edwin pinched his arm. “Ow.” No, this definitely wasn’t a dream.

“I could get a closer look if you want.” Kade said, confidently.

Seth folded his arms and looked out at the approaching airship. Behind him, he heard the new student mutter something under his breath. “Go ahead, but be careful, Kade. I don’t know what we could find on the planet.”

The drifting airship continued its course towards the rock on which everyone stood. It was a small galleon boat with a large balloon, an oval, lengthways over the ship. Various sails were attached to the sides like wings, white against the dark colored wood. It looked to be in semi-good repair, but hadn’t seen much action in a while.

Just looking at it made Seth feel uneasy for some reason.

Kade nodded, and quietly turned to Marcus, holding out her messenger-type leather bag, “Would you mind holding this for a little while? It’s difficult to carry something larger than yourself.” She smiled at the confused look on his face, “My last name is Thisila. According to legend, my ancestors are from Isithula. And I inherited their ability.” She was talking to anyone that would listen by this point. There were two forms she could take on rather quickly, a fox for running and fighting, and a small falcon for long travels. She slowly took on the form of the bird, her yellow skirt turning into yellow feathers in her tail along with the usual brown, and the green jacket turning into green feathers mixed with the normal brown of her wings. She hopped along the empty platform before taking one last look over her shoulder, and jumping into the air, her wings catching her and propelling her silently above the airship. She glanced down through the clouds at the ship from as far away as possible.

Marcus looked at Kade, confused at her comment. The bag wasn’t nearly her size. But he took it, and listened for once as she explained her inheritance, and she shape shifted into a falcon. He almost clapped, but stopped himself, as he didn’t want to draw attention. He watched her fly into the air, then sat down and began to sketch what he’d just seen, accompanied by notes: /That was amazing! I mean, I saw shifters before, at the school, but not like that. It was a very quick transformation, unlike others I’ve seen. This Kade girl is really interesting../ he stopped and looked back up, to make sure he wasn’t left behind and nothing important had happened yet, as it seemed to whenever he looked away.

Seth stood anxiously on the edge of the circle, waiting for Kade to come back. He wasn’t expecting to find anyone on the airship, but this world was foreign and unknown to him. Anything could have been possible.

Finally, after a while of floating, the airship came to a halt, floating nearly next to the circle where they all stood. From their viewpoint, not a single person was on the ship, but looks can be deceiving.

Seth contemplated the space between the airship and the rock they stood on. They needed to board the ship, but there was no convenient way, other than something of his own doing. He turned to Marcus, “Can you think of a way across this?”

((Crimson… what?))

Marcus watched as the ship slowly came to a stop across from the floating island and stood up. It was there way of travel! he laughed when Seth turned and asked him for a way across, “This is fantastic!” he said as he got up, “I hope everything is good up there, Kade! We’re boarding!” he closed his sketch book and put it under his arm as he ran over. Marcus put one foot and extended an arm in front of him. He unclenched his fists and energy appeared in front of him, and he slammed his hands down in front of him. It solidified into a bridge from the edge of the circle to the edge of the air ship, “There’s your way across! Now get going, I have to be the last one across,” he laughed. He’d never been so happy about something. His ancestor’s air ship!! He stood with his hands in his pockets and a hearty grin on his face.

From her vantage point, Kade observed the ship while keeping an eye on the group far below her. The ship appeared to be deserted, at least the deck of it. The tattered sails snapped in the breeze, and the ropes creaked, but nothing seemed to stir on board. It seemed all was quiet on the ship, but it still made her feel uneasy. Slowly, she circled lower, tighter, but still nothing. She heard the shout from Marcus, and descended further, following above and behind the group as they made their way to the ship with Marcus’ help. With great effort and concentration, she managed to speak in a croaky voice that didn’t enunciate perfectly through the beak, “Seems pretty dead. On the deck at least.” She considered alighting on someone’s shoulder, the effort of changing back wasn’t very appealing. Kade rather enjoyed being in a different form, but she flew on ahead, over the bridge and to the deck of the ship, beginning her transformation back into human form before landing. Amid a small whirlwind of green and yellow, she stepped lightly onto the deck, a smile of pure happiness tugging at the corners of her mouth as she stared around, “This is brilliant!!” She mumbled, holding a hand out to Marcus as he climbed on board, reaching for her bag, “Thanks for that.”

Seth looked around at the airship, in awe of its splendor. The others boarded and looked around themselves, but Seth grabbed the lead quickly. “Does anyone know anything about airships? Because we are going to need a pilot, and goodness knows that that is not me.”

Marcus handed Kade her bag bag and laughed a little, “This is great.” He started exploring the ship, sliding his hands on the rails and making stairs to the masts. He hopped down, near Kade and ran across the ship, stopping short of the edging. He heard Seth talking about a pilot and quickly raised his hand, “I bet I can do it!” he said, walking towards the back of the ship. “If it’s anything like a regular boat, then I can do it. Besides, I bet it runs on the same power I use. Like with the bridge.” He began to try and focus to make a simple enough design for him to steer, only to do that he had to focus threw the entire ship to see how it worked. “Ok.. this might take a little bit of time..”

Seth followed Marcus around the ship as he looked at the designs. Marcus seemed to know what he was doing, and Seth continued to Believe that he could do it, bolstering his confidence, if even ever so slightly. Finally Marcus came to where Seth assumed one could steer the boat. “By the looks of it, only a Defender can steer this?”

Marcus placed his hands on a sort of pedestal in the back of the ship, where a steering wheel would normally be on a boat. “By the looks of it, only a Defender can steer this?” he heard Seth ask him. “Yeah.. that would only make sense though,” he said, starting to focus more. The ship glowed slightly as Marcus focused his energy down the pedestal and threw the ship. He then formed a steering wheel and different mechanisms that looked similar to rope and chains throughout the ship. “Alright… let’s get moving!”
