Hey, guys. I figured this would definitely fit under Projects & Brain Crack.

Since the beginning of this school year, I’ve been noticing a certain, very small graveyard a couple streets down from where I live. But since it’s on a busy road, my mom won’t ever let me go down there and check it out. Why am I so interested, you ask?

Well, in this graveyard there’s one stone that’s taller than the others (of course, that’s not saying too much, since most of the stones are very old and pretty small), which, until about a month ago (there was a huge storm that blew down a huge branch upon the graves), had a padlock lying on top of it, perfectly in the center, open. I noticed this, and thought it was a bit strange. Who put it there? Why? Who lies in that grave?

As I said, there was a huge storm and a huge branch came down and the lock is gone, I think. Either that, or it’s somewhere on the ground, buried in leaves and the like. Somewhere along the line, the branch was taken away. But ever since I first noticed the lock, I have not been able to keep the grave off my mind. Countless times I have asked permission to check it out, just look at the name and time of living, but so far I have been denied. I am working on my persuasiveness and hope to have the permission I need, soon enough, at which point I will post details containing the man/woman’s name and time of living, and any other information on the grave. I want to learn about who this person is, and what his/her significance was to the world, or just the town if nothing bigger. And, if possible, I want to track down the meaning of the lock. I was hoping I could have a bit of help from Nerdfighteria, since I can’t set aside ALL of my time for this. It reminds me a lot of the Gussie Manlove case. Since Nerdfighters were able to succeed so well in that, I hope that we can work together to figure out who the lock-grave belongs to, and what is his/her story. Would anybody want to help?

This sounds interesting. I’m not sure what I could do to help you, but I am willing to try.

Greenwich, Connecticut?? I’ve been there. I like that place. Maybe I can do some sleuthin’ next time I’m there (which granted, won’t be for a while.)

I helped with the Gussie Audrey Manlove mystery, too. I like figuring things out.

Who’s stopping you from looking at the inscription on the grave? Could you get a picture of it? It’s possible it’s not a single person’s tomb, but one of those little family crypts. Those tend to be padlocked so, er, more people can be added later.

If people take a picture I could help to maybe?
