| Asad | Well, as a continuation of the first two, let’s discuss how socially awkward we are and how we always leave the chat with crickets chirping in the background. |
| January 5, 2012 at 9:16 pm #16547 | |
| Becky | *crickets* |
| January 5, 2012 at 9:19 pm #16555 | |
| Asad | Hmm, I was wondering, do crickets chirp? |
| January 5, 2012 at 9:25 pm #16579 | |
| Archaeopteryx | They don’t chirp in the sense that they vocalize, but the noise they make could be described as “chirping”, yes. I believe the actual production of sound is more similar to a string instrument than vocalization. |
| January 5, 2012 at 9:25 pm #16581 | |
| Becky | Crickets rub their wings together and it makes that noise. But it’s called chirping, yes. I don’t know why I say “*crickets*” and not “*chirping*” because I never say “*cat*” when I mean meow or “*truck*” when I mean horns honking… |
| January 5, 2012 at 9:29 pm #16600 | |
| Melissa | Becky, I do the same thing. Especially if you have two very socially awkward people talking…And someone has to come up with something to say but you can’t so there’s just total silence.. Not that it’s ever happened to me, or anything….. |
| January 5, 2012 at 9:40 pm #16635 | |
| Asad | Hmm, what kind of sound would a socially awkward person make? ~cough~ |
| January 5, 2012 at 9:41 pm #16638 | |
| Melissa | *feet shuffling* |
| January 5, 2012 at 9:45 pm #16659 | |
| Benjamin | I’m kind of expecting this thread to stop here because no one can think of anything else to say. |
| January 5, 2012 at 9:47 pm #16667 | |
| Asad | Cranberry! |
| January 5, 2012 at 9:49 pm #16674 | |
| Becky | I don’t like cranberries. |
| January 5, 2012 at 9:53 pm #16682 | |
| Melissa | Damnit, Becky. |
| January 5, 2012 at 9:53 pm #16685 | |
| Asad | I’m not a big fan either, unless you mix them in a banana smoothie. |
| January 6, 2012 at 3:56 am #17601 | |
| Eda | I remember this “I murder threads” thread from the old forum. Hello everyone who happened to post there, too. To add to the discussion, cranberries are fine, but always with something, or in a smoothie or so. Not having them with nothing. |
| January 6, 2012 at 4:11 am #17650 | |
| Allison | I’ve murdered so many threads that I’m still self-conscious about posting places, even stuff like Facebook comments. I think each awkward person probably has their own awkward sound. Mine is either picking at my nails or cracking my knuckles. Or playing with my earrings. Continuing the cranberry chat: I’ve never really been a cranberry person. I think I had a jello fruit salad at Thanksgiving a couple years ago with cranberries in it . . but that’s about it.

| elferdave | Hi. I, um *cough* appreciate this lovely group coming together, for support for people like me. Gives me hope I uh, am not completely alone. *cough* |
| January 6, 2012 at 3:53 pm #18163 | |
| Asad | @elferdave You killed this thread!.. for 12 hours. |
| January 6, 2012 at 4:48 pm #18205 | |
| elferdave | @glade You’re just jealous I’m better at killing threads then you. neener neener |
| January 6, 2012 at 4:58 pm #18224 | |
| Asad | @elferdave You do realize I was the Sith. The leader of the dark side, killing threads whenever I please. I was planning on making a bot that automatically posts awkward… posts. I called it, the deathpost! |
| January 6, 2012 at 5:14 pm #18247 | |
| Sammi Palmer | *awkward turtle* |
| January 6, 2012 at 7:29 pm #18412 | |
| elferdave | AWKWARD CONVERSATION TURTLE! I mean….. uh yeah. anyways, @glade well, you you might be able to kill threads temporarily, but when I’m around, your posts wished they had died so I could revive them. Because I revive threads, oh yeah. By the Avree-viver. Obviously. *whispers* I’m going to pretend that ^^ made sense and no one noticed it didn’t…… *looks around… skips away* |
| January 6, 2012 at 8:48 pm #18543 | |
| Asad | @elferdave You’re just going to have to watch in anguish as the beloved posts you make slowly slip into oblivion, until there is not a single thread left alive. Except maybe the teenagers unite thread… That will be a challenge. |
| January 6, 2012 at 9:19 pm #18607 | |
| Becky | I have faith in our awkward posting abilities to take down even the Teenagers Unite thread. Eventually. |
| January 6, 2012 at 9:40 pm #18655 | |
| Melissa | We can do it. Of course, we should keep our thread running…That’s a lovely, odd little thread isn’t it? |
| January 6, 2012 at 9:42 pm #18659 | |
| Jeremy Rogers | The odder, the better. I do believe. Though It could depend on the circumstances. |
| January 6, 2012 at 9:45 pm #18670 | |
| elferdave | @glade Well…. do I get an A for effort at least??? As for taking down TNU, I will help. It will be an immense challenge, but I’m sure we could do it. Maybe. One day. In the far, far future.

| John O. | Well, um *clearsthroat*… I- uh, *abnormallyloudswallow**20knucklecracks*… I’ve also, uh, been *playswithfacialhair**avoidseyecontact*… Hi. |
| January 6, 2012 at 10:04 pm #18715 | |
| elferdave | @amberlamps *clears throat* Haii *voice cracks* *clears throat again* Hi. Welcome to the awkwardness support group, where we try to get you to embrace you awkwardness. *sniffle, cough* *sips from My Little Pony waterbottle* |
| January 6, 2012 at 10:11 pm #18730 | |
| Becky | *awkward wave* Hello. Um, I was just… *waves hand vaguely* out. But I am back and thought I would stop by and… yeah. Hi. *shuffles feet* |
| January 7, 2012 at 2:14 am #19109 | |
| elferdave | Becky, you killed it! I am here to revive it. |
| January 7, 2012 at 3:40 am #19314 | |
| Asad | Excellent. I have created a small group of dedicated, socially awkward nerds to take down the TNU thread. I’ve advised a way to take it down, from the inside. Unfortunately, I am too old to enter the depths of TNU. I’ll stick out like a sore thumb, bringing uo topics of ponies and video games. No, we need someone younger. Who volunteers for this suicide mission. Free muffins for that brave soul. |
| January 7, 2012 at 3:50 am #19353 | |
| Molly | I used to go on this site called gaiaonline I was a champion at killing threads there. |
| January 7, 2012 at 4:50 am #19572 | |
| Becky | @glade Just what sort of muffins are we talking about here? They need to be really, really good muffins. |
| January 7, 2012 at 5:17 am #19662 | |
| Asad | @beckytobias Well, pumpkin spice muffins are always good. We’ll have a mix of thr best. Chocolate chip, triple chocolate, raspberry, cranberry apple, fruit explosion (without the jelly inside), and a ton more. |
| January 7, 2012 at 5:21 am #19681 | |
| Becky | @glade Hmmm… you drive a hard bargain. I might be convinced to infiltrate TNU for these muffins of which you speak… |
| January 7, 2012 at 5:25 am #19690 | |
| Asad | Of course, the muffins are a reward once you have completed the task. I can assure you, the muffin is not a lie. |
| January 7, 2012 at 6:08 am #19832 | |
| Becky | I’m going to need proof that the muffins exist. |
| January 7, 2012 at 1:14 pm #20083 | |
| Asad | I find your lack of faith disturbing. |
| January 7, 2012 at 1:46 pm #20095 | |
| Emmi | Ahh social awkwardness, how easy my life would be without you… I find this thread so funny because I seem to always be the one who writes the last comment and zaps the whole conversation… I’m glad I’m not alone in this. : D |
| January 7, 2012 at 2:00 pm #20102 | |
| Asad | Not this time Emmi! It is I who shall be doing the zapping around here. Zap. |
| January 7, 2012 at 7:08 pm #20529 | |
| Becky | How long does it need to be between posts for it to be a successful zap? |
| January 7, 2012 at 7:24 pm #20565 | |
| Asad | 6 to 8 hours would suffice for a successful zap. |
| January 8, 2012 at 2:05 am #21628 | |
| Allison | ZAP SUCCESSFUL. Um, yeah. So . . um . . bye. |
| January 8, 2012 at 2:40 am #21698 | |
| Asad | Twilight Sprakle! Using magic to zap threads is not traditional! |
| January 8, 2012 at 4:15 am #21876 | |
| Becky | Did it die again? Is anyone still here? *looks around empty room* *wanders off* |
| January 8, 2012 at 4:30 am #21895 | |
| Asad | No, no. Still alive and kicking. It was just hiding underneath the sheets. |
| January 8, 2012 at 5:17 am #21965 | |
| Becky | @glade In most contexts, that would be extremely awkward to say. So it fits on this thread nicely, I suppose. |
| January 8, 2012 at 5:28 am #21975 | |
| Asad | @beckytobias I agree. This is the only place I can say something socially acceptable and feel awkward. |
| January 8, 2012 at 5:35 am #21982 | |
| Becky | I feel like this could be a self-help group for socially awkward people. Hello, my name is Becky and I am socially awkward. |
| January 8, 2012 at 5:43 am #21992 | |
| Asad | Hey, you received a ‘hello’. That’s a start! |
