| LadyCorliss | *sits and pours a cup of tea* Would someone be a dear and pass me the sugar? |
| January 3, 2012 at 6:42 pm #10130 | |
| Joshua | I bid felicitations to all of you who are partaking in this topic. I do have some experience in the realm of verbose, and I must say, all of you are doing a fine job at it. Quite fine indeed. |
| January 3, 2012 at 8:03 pm #10525 | |
| Adele | Salutations fellow speakers of the Queen’s English. My name is Adele; I enjoy partaking in speaking like a proper gentlewoman in lieu of revising for an examination which is frightfully close. I shall pass you the sugar now dear LadyCorliss. *Passes sugar* |
| January 3, 2012 at 8:07 pm #10540 | |
| elferdave | Oh, my dear. How I do love conversing like thee! We shall have a great amount of amusing fun here, shan’t we? Ladies and Gentlemen, I am referred to as Lady Avree, and I do bid thee a good day. I must I must leave as this moment passes and continue with my studies of the history of my country. |
| January 3, 2012 at 9:51 pm #11119 | |
| Benjamin | Splendid weather we’re having, eh? Just what a gentleman would enjoy, a fine brisk afternoon such as this. |
| January 4, 2012 at 12:19 am #11767 | |
| Lily | Greetings fair ladies and gentlemen of the court. My name is Lady Lily (alliteration, my old english teacher would be so proud) |
| January 4, 2012 at 12:31 am #11805 | |
| Nora | Greetings Lady Lily I bid you good day. |
| January 4, 2012 at 2:25 am #12478 | |
| LadyCorliss | Greetings to all yet again. And thank you for the sugar, dear Adele. *adds some to tea and sips* And I’m afraid I must disagree with you, Sir Benjamin. Where I am, it is rather cold! |
| January 4, 2012 at 2:47 am #12582 | |
| Lily | Quite agreed Lady Corliss, it is rather chilly here where I am. The winds are blowing at a terrifying rate. |
| January 5, 2012 at 1:21 am #15063 | |
| Kelsey | Good day, Sirs and Madams! I hope you will forgive my intrusion, but I simply adored this forum before the desecration of our beloved Your Pants. You may call me by my given title, Lady Kelsey. Lady Lily, would you mind terribly passing me a saucer and cup? |
| January 5, 2012 at 1:23 am #15064 | |
| Molly | I quite agree with the nature of this forum. Indeed, it pleases me. How shall we choose to proceed from henceforth? |
| January 5, 2012 at 1:59 am #15120 | |
| Lily | It is my pleasure Lady Kelsey *passes cup and saucer* I do recommend that you try the biscuits, they are absolutely delirious |
| January 5, 2012 at 2:03 am #15127 | |
| Emily | Why good day to you all! You may address me as Lady Emily. And I must inquire you, is it inappropriate that in my mind’s eye the words of which you all speak is indeed in the accent of The British? |
| January 5, 2012 at 2:17 am #15152 | |
| Archaeopteryx | If you will pardon my sudden arrival, it most certainly is not! I, myself, can’t help but read these in a posh English manner. And to speak for the Americans here, much of the traditional ‘posh’ manner is based on a comically exaggeratedversion of upper-class English behavior, is it not? |
| January 5, 2012 at 3:04 am #15241 | |
| Will | I shall pardon your sudden arrival if you pardon mine; you are absolutely correct about that particular stereotype. |
| January 5, 2012 at 3:10 am #15249 | |
| Aspyn Pierce | Hello fair ladies and gentlemen, my name is Aspyn. If you don’t mind me saying so, this almost seems like a RPG, but that’s just my opinion. No need to take it to heart. |
| January 5, 2012 at 3:19 am #15275 | |
| Hannah Victoria | I quite agree with you, Archaeopteryx. I myself am an English woman, but not an English woman that speaks in such a manner as we are speaking presently. I reside in the north of England, thus my accent is common and often misses out letters and words in sentences. It is quite atrocious! It is refreshing to speak in such an opulent and dapper manner for a change. However, one does feel like one dwells in an Austen novel of the nineteenth century. Do excuse me however, I have been rude enough not to introduce myself! I am Lady Hannah Victoria. I hope you do not mind, but I have brought along with my person a selection of Earl Grey teas for us to sample and a pot of elderberry jam my dearest sister prepared this very morning. I believe it will taste exquisite spread upon the crumpets. (that took a lot of concentration!) |
| January 5, 2012 at 2:19 pm #16070 | |
| Esther | What a sophisticated thread I have stumbled upon. Elderberry jam, you say? How very thrilling. |
| January 5, 2012 at 3:27 pm #16093 | |
| LadyCorliss | It is quite nice to make all of your acquaintances. And Lady Esther, please help yourself to the elderberry jam. It is quite wonderful on the blueberry scones. I have been meaning to ask: how many among us have or are attending a university of higher learning? I, myself, am on vacation from one past a fortnight now. |
| January 5, 2012 at 3:55 pm #16103 | |
| Rachael | Goodday, my fellow gentlefolk, and may I say, I am quite delighted to have happened upon this thread! I am Lady Rachael, and I am humbled to make your acquaintance. Blueberry scones and tea, you say? How divine. |
| January 5, 2012 at 4:54 pm #16133 | |
| Hannah Victoria | University, you say? I currently attend a higher learning institution in the English city of Kingston Upon Hull and began my second year this last October. I am studying the fine subject of English literature and I have to agree with you, Lady Rachael, I have discovered that this fine website is a source of procrastination. I have three writing assignments due in by the end of this very month, and yet I find myself writing like a fine gentlewoman on an internet forum. |
| January 7, 2012 at 3:57 am #19382 | |
| sam c | Greetings, my fellow wordsmiths. I must say I wish this was not a meager forum, not to demean it’s brilliance, but I desire the general acceptance of properness and the value of language in everyday life. Nevertheless, let me not ramble, but instead produce another kettle of tea! |
| January 7, 2012 at 8:17 pm #20701 | |
| Kelsey | Alas, I am too young for such institutions as Universities. I do hope that our little visitations do not disrupt your academic pursuits! |
| January 7, 2012 at 8:48 pm #20787 | |
| Rachael | @dinosaurface I do believe I have many such essays due before this month is over, and yet, I find myself here, indulging in the splendour of it all. @samphony I wholeheartedly agree with this sentiment; imagine! Days and weeks conversing only in the manner in which true gentlefolk command. It would be something to behold… On another topic, I have brought some rather splendid clotted cream. I heard it goes beautifully with jam and scones. |
| January 7, 2012 at 8:55 pm #20804 | |
| Kelsey | Lovely! Many thanks to you, Lady Rachael, for this delicious clotted cream. Would you like more tea? |
| January 7, 2012 at 10:02 pm #21011 | |
| Sarah | Good day, my fellow followers of the Green Brothers. It is rather refreshing to finally stumble upon a group of the rare breed of people who enjoy putting intelligent content online that does not have anything to do with so-called “amusing” picture captions or what day of the week it is. When I am not protected by this supposed shield of anonymity but instead am out in the real world, I do not generally converse like this. In fact, due to having been born and raised in the southern part of the state of California, I do not speak very formally and, as deeply as I feel shamed to confess it, I find that that awful, rubbish word “like” creeps into my vocabulary far too often. However, I do use immaculate grammar on every Internet website that I visit. Nevertheless, the principal reason that I am posting in this forum is that I find it somewhat amusing and light-hearted. Well, now that we have tossed such petty introductions aside, would anybody care for any milk or sugar along with all that tea? I have brought hundreds of packets of both in preparation for our little gathering. |
| January 7, 2012 at 11:08 pm #21272 | |
| Elizabeth | Good day fine gentleman and ladies. I myself am called by the title of Lady Elizabeth. I reside in the area of the state the United States titled Indiana. Here I live a dull life of monotony, going to a secondary level of education for the second year. I am quite pleased to converse with you all and look forward to several intellectually stimulating conversations. |
| January 9, 2012 at 4:26 pm #24508 | |
| Rachael | @thebookholder More tea would be lovely I have lived these past 19 years in the south of England, but I daresay society would still rather frown upon conversing in this manner. That is not to say I do not wish to, heavens no! It would just seem that our collective love for the flair of this language is restricted somewhat, generally to the internet, specifically to this fine specimen of a thread. |
| January 11, 2012 at 1:50 am #26966 | |
| Annie | I do say these biscuits are absolutely divine! Much thanks to those who have prepared them. In an attempt to initiate a pleasant conversation, do any of you all believe Your Pants will become as bustling and lively as it once was? I myself do not believe this will be so unless the word is passed around that it is up and running once again. A little gossip would do quite well for this establishment, hm? |
| January 12, 2012 at 8:51 pm #28819 | |
| Rachael | I agree, dear Lady Annie, I fear that most do not know of the re-opening of Your Pants, I didn’t until I was informed by a friend on twitter. While ‘loose lips sink ships’, sometimes a little gossip can go a long way, and the word could be better spread amongst the nerdfigting community |
| January 13, 2012 at 3:06 am #29364 | |
| Allison | Good evening to you all. I am Lady Allison, and I was wholeheartedly intrigued by the eloquent speaking manner of the members of this gathering. Lady Rachael, those flowers in the centerpiece look splendid! Wherever did you find them this time of year? Oh, dear. It seems I have gotten distracted again. You see, I am studying an exotic language and must write a brief composition. I would love to stay longer with those that speak so carefully, but feel it would be more beneficial to my marks if I left immediately. |
| January 13, 2012 at 4:34 pm #29617 | |
| Rachael | Why thankyou, Lady Allison, I believe they are from overseas, I saw them in the market and simply HAD to have them! |
| January 13, 2012 at 5:10 pm #29634 | |
| Lucia | Oh splendid tidings to you all, I am Lady Lucia. Might I join you in this wonderful conversation, perchance? |
| January 14, 2012 at 1:11 am #30215 | |
| Allison | I am studying the language of the Spaniards, Lady Rachael. It is my fourth year of studies at times is rather difficult, but very rewarding. I also have an interest in linguistics. Lady Lucia, I see no suitable reason why you would not be able to participate. I pray you find the company here enjoyably pleasant. |
| January 14, 2012 at 1:45 am #30258 | |
| Aspyn Pierce | Quite sorry. I haven’t been on in a dreadfully long time. How are all of you, my lovely friends. This is such a relief from constantly being yelled at at school. How I do miss you kind folks. Does any of the kind folks here happen to speak French? |
| January 14, 2012 at 3:18 am #30366 | |
| Julie | Oh, please do excuse my interruption to the free flow of this friendly banter. I am Juliana, in the beginning of my wandering of the lands in Your Pants, and was simply interested in joining this ever-so pleasant conversation. I find it so charming that there is a place where polite, upstanding young gentlemen and ladies can congregate and use lyrical tongue rather than the spitting remarks commonly thrown around the streets outside. |
| January 14, 2012 at 7:57 pm #31065 | |
| Lily | I do apologize Lady Aspyn, my French is quite limited. |
| January 14, 2012 at 8:14 pm #31112 | |
| Aspyn Pierce | Ah hes Lady Lily, same is for me. I do not speak very much French, and was wondering if any one could help me. I could probably have an alarmingly short conversation. |
