| Asad | Nothing made me feel older when I played a song at a family gathering, and my cousins didn’t know which song it was. If anyone was wondering, it was Truly Madly Deeply by Savage Garden, which came out in 1997. Hell, think about it like this. Jurassic Park is 18 years old… |

| Jules | @glade A few years back one of my students asked me what my favorite band was. I answered Pearl Jam. Then they asked if that was the group that sang “that Teen Spirit” song. My brain still hurts just remembering it… |

| Snowy | @myfakebritishaccent – Ah, wow, I had a dumb moment, I didn’t recognize you! XD Hello again! I know the feeling, I feel like I’ve gotten a lot older in between the Your Pants era’s… Hmm, the first big ticket item I bought with my own money… I think that would be my Yeti microphone. Such an expensive microphone, and true to the name it is very large and heavy, but so amazingly clear-sounding and wonderful. Although, next up I need to get new hardware for my PC. The motherboard on it is just not doing the job anymore, I need some more powerful gear to do the stuff that I want with it. |

| anne | @angbutso come on, right town, right time, right genre, just the wrong band. (Are you sure they weren’t just Pearl Jam haters and pulling your leg?) |

| Jules | @anne No, the only Nirvana song they knew was that one. I tried listing other PJ songs off and they just stared at me and then asked if I liked Weezy. Sigh… at least I got most of them hooked on Journey. It was a small victory, but a victory nonetheless. |

| Maren | I’m 25 and it is nice to know there are older nerdfighters out there! Sometimes I feel like I’m crashing a high school party. |

| Elisabeth | I just turned 23 two weeks ago and for whatever reason it seems suddenly old to me – most of my friends are older (and my coworkers are much older) so they all laughed at me. Now I’m in my “mid-twenties” instead of college age, and it seems like I have to be a “real” grown-up! Good to know there are lots of other “real grown-ups” watching youtube videos and reading books meant for teenagers, too And @mishie, college tuition. Then rent. Super exciting! |

| Matthew Daniel | 24 here, almost 25. |
| January 6, 2012 at 3:32 am #17528 | |
| Mishie | The first thing I spent with my own money/first paycheck was probably a dinner for my family. They said its tradition. *cough* i think i bought into it, literally. |

| Liz | 26, 27 in Feb. I get frustrated with some of my friends when they don’t understand how awesome being a nerdfighter is and why I get so ramped up about it. |
| January 6, 2012 at 2:37 pm #18137 | |
| Dee | Officially 25 as of yesterday! Woo! Just got back from London! <3 |

| Erin | 23! Woop! We’re definitely out there, and probably outnumber or rival the teen numbers (but teens have way more time to sit around and post in their forum, huh? those were the days…) i was so desperate to find more older-ish nerdfighters (people in my life stage) that back before your pants went down, I started a collab to find and get to know other 21+ers- and we aptly named it LegallyInYourPants. Sometimes i forget about all the youngun’s who have to get their parents permission and driving skills to take them to gatherings, etc. It’s been so fun these past couple years post-college to just be able to plan and GO to things I want to, as long as I can get off work. such freedom! |

| Adesa | Um, am I the *only* one over 40? |
| January 7, 2012 at 6:30 am #19874 | |
| Jules | @homeboys Adesa, I’ve seen at least one person in the Adult Nerdfighters group who was 47, and I think there were others. I don’t think you’re alone. |

| Jennifer | I’m 23, which apparently makes me an adult. Still not sure I believe it. :p |

| Kae Marie | I’m 27! I’m glad I’m not the only one who’s not a teenager. |
| January 8, 2012 at 1:45 am #21587 | |
| Adesa | Well that’s a relief, @Jules, as I certainly don’t *feel* old! |
| January 8, 2012 at 2:45 am #21712 | |
| Todd | 23 year old nerdfighter here, although I really don’t feel like I’ve aged since I was 18. It’s kinda weird how one day you just sit down and notice that you’ve somehow become another year older! |

| Lizzy | oh good, im glad you ppl exist, i was getting worried, I am about to turn 22 in 8 days. woo!! |

| Joshua | The ever boring age of 21 here, though i feel like some what out of place, not old and not young. |

| Heather Anne | Hi everyone! I’m Heather. I’m 23, going to be 24 in a few months. I’m a huge fan of the entire Vlogbrothers ethos, and I think it’s great no matter what age you are. I would, however, be really interested in more adult-friendly meet-ups in the future. If anyone is interested in taking this idea and running with it, I encourage them. I’m terrible at planning and I wouldn’t know how to do it in a way that doesn’t seem too excluding. Just a thought. Nice to know all of you! |

| Catherine | Hello! I’m 24, good times. I don’t really feel like an Adult, though – I’m in grad school and will be for a very long time. Nice to see a bit older crowd around here! |

| Nikita | Hi everyone! I’m Nikita (22, Toronto), I’m reeeally excited that there’s a group of nerdfighters who aren’t teenagers. Those younguns make me feel old when they talk about lunch periods and homework. |

| Dingonerd | I’m sooo glad reading this thread that I’m not they only one on here who is not a teenager!!! I’m….wait…. 27… no 26! I stopped counting a while ago!! |

| Emmi | Jumping into the discussion, hi everyone I’m Emmi, I’m 20 for 4 more days and after that I’m probably going to stop counting. I’m actually quite surprised that there are so many teenage nerdfighters! It was always so hard for me to find people with similar interests when I was a teenager myself that I can’t help but think what my years in secondary school would have been if there had been nerdfighters to spend time with back then! I found this community 1,5 years ago or so and I’m so happy I did, I come from Finland and we only have a handful of nerdfighters here, most of them living very far away from me, so luckily this is mainly an internet community… (: What amazes me most though is the thread of “Nerdfighters who are too old to be kids and too young to be teenagers”. I mean oh my God, what did I do when I was 11 or 12, played Tetris and googled websites about dogs? |

| Jeremy Rogers | Hello, i’m Jeremy. I am 24 and it is nice to see threads with other over 21 Nerdfighters! |

| SweeneySays | Huzzah for the existence of this thread! I’m 23 – I’ll be 24 in a little over a month. |

| Yaara | Actually, I’m the one writing a seminar paper on Nerdfighteria (if you’re following effyeahnerdfighters on tumblr you probably saw my post/filled my survey) and the results showed a surprising amount of Nerdfighters are over 20. In fact, 31% of the people who filled my survey (and I had 1500 replies, thanks Nerdfighteria!) are young adults between 20-30. It’s true there are still a larger group of teenagers (ages 13-19, 67% of the people who replied to my survey) but still, represent! As for me, I’ll be turning 24 on Friday. So holla! |

| Jeremy Rogers | That is very interesting! That’s a nice sampling size. What elese have you learned from your survey? |

| Stephanie | I just turned 22 a couple months ago. I was 18 when I first became a nerdfighter and proud to be one for a lifetime Glad to see there are so many 20 or over nerdfighters out there! |

| sterling | “I mean oh my God, what did I do when I was 11 or 12, played Tetris and googled websites about dogs?” – Emmi Hahaha! Oh yes. I remember distinctly playing pinball on my crappy ancient computer and googling things about Orcas on a better one, jotting all the info down on a piece of paper from Pictionary. Oh the nostalgia. Back then, internet made horrible noises and the cost was per minute so I could only spend 30 minutes online tops. I still think 1990 was 10 years ago. I can’t help it, I’m forever stuck in 2000. I seriously can’t believe Jurassic Park is almost two decades old! …It still look so good too!

| Leslie Cantley | I’m 23 and only recently discovered what a nerdfighter is! Even though I’m new, I’m very excited to meet other nerdfighters and I’m glad there are quite a few of you around my age! |

| David | I’m 22, technically an adult but never a grown-up. Also, I like Erin’s group name, “Legally in Your Pants.” |
| May 21, 2012 at 9:33 pm #86660 | |
| Leanne | 22 here, which technically makes me an adult, although the cultural idea of the word seems far more mature than I am right now. DFTBA! |
| May 22, 2012 at 1:03 am #86707 | |
| Anthony | I’m 22! We’re on here, we’re just scarce compared to the youngin’s |
| May 22, 2012 at 1:29 am #86716 | |
| John Lipsey | I always feel old when I look around YP. I’m 27! I’ve not read all the posts here yet, but that could make me one of the oldest of the old. We should put me in a home! |
| May 22, 2012 at 1:42 am #86718 | |
| Jules | @dobbythehouseelf There’s also a group of us older folks over in Nerdfighters of a Certain Age if you want to check it out. I’m 30 and my husband is 32 (and I’ve met nerdfighters on here in their 60s!) so you don’t get to go to the rest home quite yet. |
