Falling Skies is definitely worth checking out. it’s a different spin on the whole alien invasion deal. Sometimes the action sequences get in the way of plot development, but it shows promise.

So many questions!

1) That is correct. Werewolves follow a structure that resembles tribes, and there are often multiple in an area. Some aren’t even in packs, but most enjoy being in a community. Unlike vampires, they’re not magically forced to obey any leaders—it’s good ol’ democracy (although even modern wolves tend to pick the leaders that are the biggest, strongest, and most assertive rather than those with common interest in mind), and it’s not unheard of that a particularly despotic packmaster has been forced to renounce his leadership.
2) Multiple characters are allowed So far, a maximum of 2 characters per player seems to be working fine, so you’re in the clear.
3) Your character can be a packmaster in Orlais. There are a few different packs in Orlais and vicinity, mostly different in how “primitive” they are, so no one packmaster has absolute supremacy in the city. Feel free to make the rest up

It’s probably got to do with the whole animalistic nature thing. He’ll probably be big and strong, too—them female wolves like their alpha males

I’m afraid so, haha. I’m all for equal opportunities, but the wolves don’t seem to agree. If you really wanna play a female, I could imagine that the packmaster’s girlfriend or wife might have quite a bit of influence…

No problem. We’re still in the beginning of the plot, even though a lot has happened, so there should be plenty of opportunities.

@kiar That’s up to you and your RPing style. Personally I never use a character’s name in a post until my character actually knows it (whether it be because he’s been told or overheard it). Which does give me some trouble at times when introductions never really appear, so six pages in my character will still call someone “that girl with the blonde hair”

Yeah, I think it’s about time we connect the threads. With people freeballing the RP so far, we’ve got a lot of different stuff happening.

What do you guys say we take a few posts to figure out how everything is connected so we have a central plot to go on?

Good idea. I’m taking notes as well. Before Elexea went AWOL, we discussed some possible scenarios for why the King would be dead. I thiiiink we should be able to squeeze everything into the plot now, but don’t you people go making up plot twists right now

Okay, so I’ve been torturing my brain for a while now in order to make these things fit together. I don’t have everything down yet, and there are a lot of details (such as Pierre Talon and that vaud named Sabine) that might come in handy, but here’s an overview of my thoughts:

Suppose that it wasn’t the vauds who killed Rousseau. After all, while they hate each other, it rarely comes to bloodshed, and never such a high-profile kill.

No, it was another vampire. Let’s call him Mr. X for now. He’s got great plans, yet doesn’t have the manpower to do it. But since vampires are bound by magic to obey their king, taking the throne would give him instant access to every single vampire in Canada. That’s a lot of people.
He attempted the same thing three hundred years ago, but was stopped by the leader of the vauds, one of Yolanda’s predecessors. Those symbols on Richard Rousseau’s body? They’re vaud symbols, used specifically for killing vampires. Yolanda’s predecessor used them three hundred years ago. Mr. X did manage to kill the vampire king, but since he was stopped, Rousseau took the throne. That’s also where Elizabeth and Severin saw the symbols (as for Tristan… idk)—it was a quite public confrontation. Back then, Elizabeth was still human, as was Severin. Severin had actually procured the (still a bit blurry on what exactly it is) that Mr. X would need to exercise his great plan back then. Once it was discovered that Severin worked with both the vauds and the vampires, Mr. X swiftly had him assassinated, thinking it was him who had tipped the vaud leader off (did he? Who knows?).

His plan had failed, but Mr. X had no intentions of giving up. So he waited. After all, what’s three hundred years when you’re immortal? After three hundred years he felt certain he’d be able to try again, because the attack would be pretty much forgotten by then, and every single witness dead. Well, except for those whose lifespan extended past three hundred years, such as, say, a certain ghost and a certain good-looking vampire lady.

Now, the vampire lady was easy to fix: Get someone to kill her, make it look like a run-of-the-mill vamp kill. That’s where Howard fits in. The ghost, Severin, however, was a little more difficult. He did need to die, but the had gone missing during the three hundred years, and Severin was the only one who knew where to find it. Before Severin was put down, someone had to get the back. So Smoke, not being the brightest vampire (sorry Jaan ), thus not likely to catch wind of what was happening, was given a job to do, hence the scroll.

He ordered the murder on Rousseau. The assassin was a vaud, unaware that his killing the friggin vampire King would make it look like the vauds’ doing. Essentially, the vauds were framed, both as revenge and as a way to hinder them from stopping him.

Everyone else aren’t exactly involved directly, but can easily be.

Things I’ve been considering:

Pierre Talon/Black Jack—could be the same person, either Mr. X himself or his right hand. Elizabeth obviously knows him, so it wouldn’t betoo much of a longshot.
What would be Mr. X’s grand sceme? Wipe out all humans?
Sabine, the vaud Rowan mentioned, she’s apparently skilled in the art of murdering people. Does she know something? Would it be worth it for Rowan or Jaden to check it out?

I think that was what Elexea was getting at with that long post. Can’t be sure, though.

What’s your plan for the scroll? This isn’t a dictatorship, I’d love to hear what you’ve got

I like it, there’s a lot of potential. It even looks like it might fit pretty seamlessly into the rest, provided that’s what we’re going with.

I’m going to bed now, but from the looks of it there’s some great potential in here

Pierre Talon ordered the hit on Elizabeth. Since both she and Howard seem to know him pretty well, it would make sense to have him show up at some point.

Fitting Black Jack and the box in might make sense. We just need to figure out why Black Jack would need Severin to hold on to it—perhaps it was something Mr. X needed for his big takeover, but he needed to take it out of rotation for a good while, to keep it safe while he was planning his Great Plan 2.0

I’m not really sure yet, but I shall go to bed now. It is my birthday, and I don’t want to sleep it all away.

Who is this Baron Samedi? I don’t see you mentioning him in character.

Anyway, it’s not too shabby I remember the ghost thing I’m a bit worried it might be centered a bit too much around your character, but there’s definitely some good ideas in there.

I’m gonna PM everyone who hasn’t replied in a while to make sure they check all this out—we can’t have people complaining about the plot direction just because they weren’t here

Sounds good. I think we should jump back into the story soon – some details can fill themselves in as we go.
