| Samprit Bains | On the old YP there was a very good thread where you could post a video and get it reviewed.
|
| January 2, 2012 at 9:42 pm #5743 | |
| Gino Brancazio | Well, an interesting video Samprit. Some quite negative opinions there but everyone is welcome to their opinions! Perhaps when you tell people what you don’t like about each part of facebook you could suggest an alternative action? Regarding the video itself, nice production (good lighting, unlike mine) but you may want to invest in a microphone. The sound quality is good but sounds like you’re in an empty room (which you might be) if you don’t want to get a microphone try putting some soft things in the room to “soften” the sound of your voice. | Christi | I really liked your video. You explained it really well, and I loved how you drew it out and stuff. Such a great idea, also. Very very well done. Kind of old, but here ya go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4orK3uhbxE |

| Samprit Bains | I thought I might as well review a video, since I actually didn’t review any videos & I have a load of videos which could be reviewed. |
| January 2, 2012 at 11:29 pm #6541 | |
| Andrew | I like the video, but I have a few suggestions. I also like how you tell stories. |
| January 2, 2012 at 11:51 pm #6648 | |
| James | @Andrew I must say, as a Brit, I found this video hilarious. Mostly because it ticked all the boxes of redneck stereotypes. Some of the cuts could have been a bit quicker, but the timing was still good. Not too shabby, my friend. My vid (from my side channel, but what the heck): http://youtu.be/Q3PiH5liNu8 |

| Christina | Your lyrics are witty and quite hilarious. I thoroughly enjoyed watching it! My only critique is that it was slightly hard to hear all the vocals, so maybe lower some of your other tracks so you can hear the lyrics more clearly. But overall, great job! | Christi | @christie42013 I don’t have much experience reviewing a song, but I’ll do my best. ^_^ |
| January 3, 2012 at 10:56 pm #11464 | |
| Ryan | ^ Well you do a great job at finding interesting things to talk about! My only small suggestion really is cutting it down a bit. But really I enjoyed it. Here is my video! http://youtu.be/fVbpI9kYWeU |

| Jared Sellick | It wasn’t all that bad you kind of lost my attention near the end, I agreed with you on the points you made as far as betting editing goes. I think your vlogging can definitely improve I’m subscribing those those improvements. |
| January 4, 2012 at 4:23 am #12977 | |
| Christi | @yodoob Yeah, I could only watch the second one. |
| January 4, 2012 at 4:18 pm #13664 | |
| liam | Hello. I thought it was a very interesting and original idea. The length was ideal and I found the video pretty funny. The only thing I would suggest would be to try and be more engaging – the dude was speaking pretty low and that became frustrating at times – but all around funny creative vid. |
| January 4, 2012 at 4:33 pm #13698 | |
| Michael Meador | Wow. Wonderful production. I loved all the cuts, and how you had the different clips over your voice, and the background music was Perfect. What do you use to edit? I’ve just got flipshare, and it sucks. I just loved how honest you were. Man, I don’t want to follow that.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3BDjky-Hmq8 Btw, this is a joke, in case you couldn’t tell. I actually lol’d at that clip of my dog.. |
| January 4, 2012 at 9:22 pm #14425 | |
| Jordan | That video of yours reminded me of I am Legend just cuz it was just you and your dog, and your dog was similar in color to the one in I am Legend (lolrandom.) If you survive 2012, continue those vlogs and TOTALLY keep going with the I am Legend thing ahaha. I hope you’re enjoying Zelda and such. Okay, so I actually have a few questions: Are we allowed to post more than one video? And are the videos specific to “vlog type” videos, or can they be other things like music and random sketches and such? This is the video I will post for now |
| January 4, 2012 at 9:36 pm #14485 | |
| Chloe Pearce | Your video was pretty good. I like the idea of a ‘pre-anniversary’. However, I think there was a bit too much silence, and you could try doing some things to hold the attention of your audience. Maybe jump cuts, or speak a bit faster, or something like that? EDIT: Sorry, the post above me didn’t show up until after I posted. There’s my review of it: Very funny, and great editing. This video was done really well.
|
| January 4, 2012 at 10:01 pm #14540 | |
| Scott | Your video had interesting content and was presented well. The only problems that I had were that at some points it was difficult to understand you. There are also a few sections that don’t seem to be completely necessary. Well done, though and keep it up. Here’s my video: http://youtu.be/pyuVvD5CQ5Y |
| January 5, 2012 at 8:07 am #15940 | |
| Jordan | I genuinely lol’d at the part where you said “I know it has something to do with Philip DeFranco.” That was a genuinely funny and well done video! Brevity was indeed a strong point for this video, which is good because it holds the viewer’s attention. I can’t really say much besides maybe tweak the volume a bit so I could hear you a little better–but that’s not even that big of a deal, might just be me. Anyways, I really liked that video a lot. Idk about double posts; if we’re not supposed to post more than one, I will get rid of this. But here is a sample of one of my (random) vlogs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nu6tgaiiQoM&feature=related |

| mike abbott | your quite funny and seem to have enough confidence to just ramble and ramble. but i quite enjoyed it. erm mine is kind of weird, take it with good humor =] |

| April Wang | Haha, Mike, that’s actually hilarious. My most recent video: |

| Gnora | This was a really well thought out video. It felt a little scripted and flat though, and I disagree with some of you points regarding being in the friend zone. You also contradict yourself in the end. please feel free to rip this apart. |
| January 6, 2012 at 1:25 am #17173 | |
| Christi | I thought your video was really good for an educational video. You explained things really well, and it was really informative. However, for me personally, I would’ve liked a little humor mixed in, and for it to be shorter. Perhaps you could’ve split it into a couple videos or something. Again, that’s just my opinion. | Lisa | I loved that! Probably helps that I love different languages, as well as John Green and his books of course! I liked that there was a bit of an intro and wasn’t just “this is how your name is written.” Very nice Not my best video but I’m getting back into it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxVDF2V9qp8 |

| Maddie | I really liked it! Very good topic, that I think MANY people can relate to. I remember when my friends found out that I vlogged, yeah, it was hard to explain. And then I took them to a YouTube Gathering and it was weird for them I think, but I had fun. Sorry for going off on a bit of a tangent there. I very much enjoyed your video! | Kristin | @Maddie That was a really great video, and I agree SO MUCH with this! It always annoys me when people call the Doctor, Dr. Who in TV interviews or magazines AND when they spell the name like that. It’s not really a big deal, but it should be so easy for the reporters to do just a little research and get their facts right. Here’s one of my videos. It doesn’t actually have a point, but it includes magic and things. So yeah.: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oNTkz9YfK6I |

| Alix @liesforneweyes | Overall I enjoyed the video Kristin. You have a very expressive face and that makes for an intresting watch for the audience. Even though this vlog is to get you back to getting used to vlogging from what you said , the content did keep me intrested. I would say though that you position yourself either center or to my left of the screen. You said the angle was new, but the right side of the screen isn’t being used much. Just an idea. But I really enjoyed it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2O9_mhwN6hw Its a musical video because that all I do, but its a poem by Tichborne I put to music. |

| Travis | My video ( A lot of work went into this ) |
| January 12, 2012 at 2:11 am #28218 | |
| Leighann | @Travis, I love videos having to deal with medieval stuff :3 The only thing I would recommend is maybe either dubbing the sound over with voices or talking louder. I couldn’t really understand a lot of what was being said. The wind you can’t really stop, so that was a bit of a problem too. But i really enjoyed it :3 My vid : http://youtu.be/1MVosRoixbw |
| January 12, 2012 at 2:12 am #28219 | |
| Leighann | @Alix @liesforneweyes since nobody reviewed yours. I really like your song. Watch some of the pitches, because sometimes they go flat while your singing but other than that it’s a really good song :3 keep writing. My vid: http://youtu.be/1MVosRoixbw |
| January 14, 2012 at 8:36 pm #31149 | |
| Christi | For a first video, it’s really good! The content was amusing, and you had good energy through the whole thing. My only critiques are just technical stuff that I’m ocd about, though other people might not be bothered by it. Every once and a while, your chin was cut out of the frame, and that just looks awkward. Also, you look down a lot, which I do myself so I notice it a lot when other people do it. Otherwise, really good! I subscribed. :] My video: http://youtu.be/2tQEJwDyBN0 |
| January 15, 2012 at 4:46 am #32100 | |
| Jordan | I am very confused by this video. These are real overheard things from actual on the street conversations? Or…? Lol they were very random though, and without context, even a bit funny. I mean, it would be cool if you made that a sketch where some guy just walked up to random people and you get whatever they’re saying without context. At least, that’s what I think. |
| January 15, 2012 at 5:46 am #32215 | |
| Nina | Honestly, it was a good song, but it made me a little bit anxious. I don’t even know why. However, you’re friend is really good at the whole mastering thing because the quality of the sound was excellent. Overall, I definitely think this wasn’t my type of music and it could be just because I haven’t played a pokemon game in forever, but I definitely think most people, especially people who are really into pokemon would like it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OqP__JONOpo&context=C3fc4dc9ADOEgsToPDskL7RYEvzAXYMpeuWB4KLhN2 |

| Rachel Perry | Edit: I’m sorry for messing up the flow of the post. My sincerest apologies. NINA: I am reviewing your video! I like that your style of video making is very natural and raw. I enjoy that it is just you, a camera, and your thoughts. I appreciated a lot of information you included. I thought gave a good review of the book and the feelings felt while reading it. I appreciated how you said, that John put his entire soul into the book and that it wasn’t what you were expecting but it was what you needed. My only critiques (if you want to hear them) is that you tend to ramble a small bit and while some tangents are good, the motion of the video is lost with so many distractions. Also, while I do appreciate long videos, I think in general many youtube viewers like 2-4 minute videos. I think you may want to experiment with editing more or with smaller concept ideas. I hope that was a good review and I am sorry for the mishap. If anyone would like to check out my collab channel and review it that would be cool. It’s five girls who enjoy youtube and experimenting in video making, friendship, and online collaboration. youtube.com/fiveunknownnerds Here is a video:

| January 19, 2012 at 1:44 pm #37035 | |
| Liza Rae Ruedas | I like that you move around when you film, like not just like be sitting at one spot or something. I find it engaging. I think the lyrics are pretty good, but you really needa add a beat, because it kinda feels.. empty. And like say the words with more of a kick. It’s pretty good though! Anyway, here’s my video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qcWgLEdqwo&feature=g-upl&context=G258eaa2AUAAAAAAABAA |

| Laurel Ann | ^^First let me say that your hair looks very cute! I identified with a lot of the things you said, and some of your points were pretty insightful. One thing that you may want to do to make your videos slightly more engaging is to make them move a bit faster, if you know what I mean? Also you were somewhat out of focus at the end, but that happens to everyone. Overall, I think you definitely have promise. I like your accent as well! Here is my video, if anybody wants to, you know. Review it. |

| Sam | I’m not really a big Beatles fan but I have to say that was extremely good, you have a very good voice Anyway, heres my video :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHh1JsmM_i4 (Its meant to be a little bit awkward) |

| Joe Kinghorn | ‘Do not approach him because he has left his shoes at home, and this is a serious problem’ is quite possibly the best line from a Youtube video i have heard in a while! I love the idea of a series in ‘looking for Sam’ i very rarely just subscribe after watching just one video but i hit that Sub button! I really enjoyed it Heres my video about ‘What are You Capable of’ |

| Chloe Pearce | Your video was good. The lighting and editing was done really well, and you have a pretty good voice. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7NGgzkyoUk&feature=plcp&context=C3afd507UDOEgsToPDskJJoVrW3QVdpuEx05o47IXI Mine’s about TFiOS, but there are no spoilers. |
| January 25, 2012 at 2:10 am #41879 | |
| Colin Harvey | You’re very comfortable in front of the camera and being American, I instantly loved your accent. I read TFiOS and completely agreed with your comments about it. One thing I would suggest about that particular video though was that the audio was a little jumpy when you were outside. I’m sure that’s just due to wind and stuff but hearing was just a bit of an issue. Otherwise, great video. http://youtu.be/rNmzj0xAqxs here’s my video. |
| January 26, 2012 at 1:58 pm #42870 | |
| Josh Hill | Very good video Colin if not a little long to start. I really enjoyed it and your confidence towards the camera held well with the whole video. DFTBA! My video: |
| January 26, 2012 at 4:51 pm #42931 | |
| deadlyloofah | I like it, it’s a little hard to hear you seeing as your underscoring is a bit on the high side. Take it down just a tad. Some of your cuts could be a tiny bit faster. Also look at your rule of thirds a bit more, I would bring your camera down just a tad bit. The thing I worry about most is because I am American heavier accents can be hard to understand, and yours is not the case, you talked with good articulation and clarity so it wasn’t difficult to follow at all. |
| January 27, 2012 at 8:21 am #43564 | |
| Chloe Pearce | Nice video. I particularly liked your use of humour. There was enough to keep it interesting, but not so much that it over-shadowed the things you had to say on the script writing process. It was good that parts of your video were shot in different locations- that made it more engaging. |
| January 28, 2012 at 4:24 am #44144 | |
| Ryan | Great Job on the editing. Only suggestion is possibly filming somewhere else? Seems a bit awkward as far as the backdrop. Here’s my new video and project. PressPlayForChange |

| Samuel | That’s a really good way to encourage people who wouldn’t otherwise give money to charity to be able to do so, enjoyed the video and look forward to seeing more from this project. And here is my video on File Sharing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmQkm-TTAuM |
| January 28, 2012 at 1:28 pm #44358 | |
| Chloe Pearce | The lighting and editing were done well, but I think you could have been a bit clearer on your point. I understood what you were saying, but you rambled a bit too much. That’s not a good idea for videos in which you are making an argument to support a claim. Maybe you could try writing out what points you will make before recording the video if you don’t already do that? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oI1zP4bnU-w

| January 29, 2012 at 1:41 am #44876 | |
| Nina | I actually watched this in your “Thoughts from Places” thread and was tempted to say that I was eventually going to start doing them as part of just my life. Because I think it will be fun and I just generally like them. I will also have a camera with me most days and so that’s a nice thing to try to do. Now, given, that I’ve been verbose about me, let me be verbose about you. I liked the video, but there were some technical problems. Like at one point, it just kind of cut off while you were midword. And another time the jump was just funny. But there was a lot of good content and it did send a really good message to the world. It is a good video with some coherent thoughts. And it made me smile because you did it in a slightly different way with the most of the audio being actually from the video and not on top of it. I don’t know if that makes sense, but I hope it does. Keep up the good work and I hope to see some more from you soon. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wOvQNDfZNTw&feature=g-upl&context=G298a598AUAAAAAAAAAA |
