| Andie | So this is most likely just gonna stay brain crack because I’m only a junior in high school but, GOD I wanna make a movie out of The Fault in Our Stars. Like, a full feature-length movie. It just inspired me so much to do so and I have no ideas for it so far but, ugh, I’d love to do it. I mean, the imagery in that book just. I can’t even. asdfghjk. |

| Jessica | As long as whoever makes it does an amazing job and doesn’t ruin it, then yes I would definitely watch it! |

| Lauren | No, there can’t be a TFiOS movie! I mean, if I cry my eyes out in my bedroom, it’s like that whole tree thing: If a tree falls in the middle of the woods, does it make a sound? But if I’m bawling like a baby in a movie theater, that’s different. Lol. |

| Sasha | There can only be a movie if John signs all the cast and crew filming it. |

| Pauline | I would like a TFiOS movie, but only if John had 100% control over every single aspect of the movie (otherwise a lot of nerdfighters would probably turn into giant squids of anger if something is shown in a way that contradicts the way John meant it to be), which generally doesn’t happen with book-to-movie adaptations. But it’s a cool idea!

| James Cobb | It’ll probably wait. His other books are still in the agonizingly slow process of becoming films. The production of Looking for Alaska has been “shelved indefinitely” and An Abundance of Catherines’ screenplay is, I guess, still being done by John. |

| Gillvinyeta | I think it not translate well into film. I love the book, but a lot of the story happens inside the head of Hazel and it would be drastically out of character for her to say these things out loud. |

| Jane | As a cinema lover, I can say right now without a doubt that some parts of TFiOS would just not translate well to film at ALL. Both Augustus and Hazel are so pretentious that trying to depict their actual characters would require some heavy revision in the screenplays. You can’t always have an internal monologue, and some of the stuff Augustus says does just not work for the demographic the film would be trying to target. As much as I love the two of them being witty in his basement, that can’t be like 20 minutes worth of screen time. I also think it would be really hard for certain directors to approach this correctly, as some would try to over stylized it to make the whole ‘cancer kid’ thing more appealing, or cash in on it. |

| Rhiannon | Authors should always be available for consultation, but they should NEVER be entirely in charge of a movie. |

| deadlyloofah | Actually i’m already working on a TFiOS short film, it’s only the first chapter, but we are filming Feb 17th and 18th, and are in rehearsals right now. *edit*
