| Crystal Rundall | Just wondering how many fellow Theatre nerdfighters are out there. Weather your a full time committed theatre person or just a newbee with an interest in the world of theatre your welcome here. Swap show stories and hard work. Be proud of your productions and Unite in the family of theatre. I’m currently a college student working on my bachelors in Theatre Arts with an emphasis in Costume construction. I worked on my first production with costuming at the age of 5 and have been addicted to theatre ever since. I’ve put my foot into all sides of the production and I can definitely say that there is nothing like watching a show come together. I don’t ever want to lose that feeling. I really wish I could make a general overview topic and specific topics to narrow down our search bar. Just saying.

| Sarah | I am just about to start my last semester as a theatre major and I am studying to be a lighting designer. I have loved theatre as long as I can remember and I really think I would be miserable doing anything else. |

| Leah but you can call me Bones | someone said the “m” word in the theatre during a show a few days ago… seventh person to do so during this run. Two actors nearly broke their necks on stage. |

| Crystal Rundall | The “m” word can be mighty powerful. And anyone who is involved with the production of Theatre. This is a panel for you. Weather your a techie an actor or just help run the department your welcome here. So yes Dana Stage Crew does count. We started my college’s production of Midsummer Night’s dream this week. I’m a draper, if you don’t know what that means its the person in the costume shop responsible for making the designers sketch a reality. They are assisted by the first hands, stitchers, and cutters, and work under the direction of the shop supervisor and their assistant. XD Anyways I’m really excited to be making the fairy outfits this quarter. Is anyone here working on a production they are very passionate about? I really like to hear stories about other productions. |

| Anne Claire | I’m not new, but I’m not old when it comes to theatre. I started liking theatre in 4th grade. I’ve been in about 4.5 (I say .5 because we haven’t performed yet.) I plan on majoring in theatre or a performing arts related major. I love being in Shakespearean play productions. Story time: |

| Julia | I’ve been a theatre nut for quite a few years now. I’ve done pretty much everything, from acting as lead, to chorus, to dancing, to stage design, to directing, to tech (both sound and lighting), and all the way to directing. |

| deadlyloofah | So what is everyones favorite play. Mine is Easily the Shape of things. |

| Jerky Malloy | I’m a sound designer, started out in construction and stage-handing. Tried acting and hated it, but theater, as a subject and discipline (the study of the convergence of everything interesting about being alive) is one of my two favorites. My favorite play is easily Othello, because I am boring, and my favorite musical is probably Into the Woods, because I am uncultured. |

| Crystal Rundall | I haven’t seen Into the Woods live but I can easily say Othello is one of the most intriguing plays I’ve ever had the pleasure of analyzing. I don’t really have a favorite play. My favorite performance I’ve acted in was Dark of the Moon closely followed by To See The Stars. Both great plays. I think my favorite experience with costuming is the production of Midsummer Night’s Dream that I’m currently working on. The Fairies, which I’m draping, are just so much fun to work on. |

| Jerky Malloy | I’m pretty sure there’s a Broadway recording (with Bernadette Peters, whom I will someday make my wife) of Into the Woods on Netflix, if you have it. I meant it was boring because having a Shakespeare play as your favorite is just kind of unoriginal, but Iago is still my favorite character in all of fiction. He literally meets every single criterion on the psychopathy checklist, 400 years before it was written. I’m really looking forward to studying Titus Andronicus, as it’s most of my friends’ favorite play, but from what I hear it lacks the humanity of Othello. |

| Casey | I am really involved in my high school theater tech. Next year I am hoping to stage manage a show or be lead backstage, because of the number of people in our theater really only juniors and seniors get to (I am currently a sophomore). My favorite plays we have done were probably the 2 musicals (Hairspray and A Christmas Carol) we have done because there was simply so much for the tech crew to do. |

| Ernest | I’m currently really sick and in bed so I’m going to be as brief as I can: I’m a theatre student and there is nothing else I’d like to do than to make theatre. Brecht is likely my top candidate for favourite dramatist. I realise I sound – to quote Holden Caulfield – phony, but I can’t help it because I’m sick. |

| Berecca | Currently in school so I only take part in theatre as a hobby, but I love it. My acting class is currently working on a major production which we are writing ourselves. I’m really excited about it. |

| Samantha | I’m involved in my school’s theatre department heavily and absolutely love everything that has to do with theatre. Loving Into the Woods doesn’t mean that you’re uncultured! It’s a fantastic show, as well as very creative. I can’t choose a favorite show… there’s too many good ones to decide between. |

| Crystal Rundall | Well do some research, and talk your parents through it. I’ve dealt with many parents who were not supportive of the Theatre Degree simply because they saw it as an unsteady career choice. Yes there are risk but since you wanna teach anyway why not choose a second teaching emphasis. Teach Theatre and Math or English etc. They may through their support behind you getting a teaching career in a different field one that is more study. Instead of standing by the choice as in your dedicated to it. Show your parents all the ways that you specific emphasis can be used. For instance with a Theatre Degree in Costume Construction. I could go become a seamstress for many people. I could work in theatre and in Hollywood. I could… There is a lot that people don’t realize they can do with a theatre degree. Always remember through. It isn’t the end of the world if you can’t do theatre. My acting professor is really trying to emphasis that in theatre students. If your parents still aren’t supportive try and compromise with them. Do a double Major half of it in something they really support and the other with the Theatre. Always remember you don’t really know if you can handle a life in Theatre until you get to a school and have to budget your days into 30min increments so that you can get everything done that you have to, often times this doesn’t happen for people until grad school. Always remember a career in theatre means having to make sacrifices from your life outside theatre. It is highly unlikely that you really do understand those sacrifices until you really do get into theatre. I’m just starting to understand the extent of it and I felt like I had no life outside of theatre while in High School, boy was I wrong. I barely have enough time to cook my food much less spend 5 min having a social life every other day. |

| Hallie Grace | Hey y’all. I’m currently in the college audition process for BFA musical theatre, and it’s killing me slowly. |

| Robert Boyd | International Thespian Society yay. My favorite role was that of Schroeder in “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown!” the remade version. |
