So recently I’ve found a new Japanese artist (Natsumi Kiyoura 清浦夏実) and I’d like to download her album, but seeing as how she’s only got one album released anywhere, it’s pretty hard for me to find a place to do it.

I could always import it, I suppose, but that is pricey (like $40).

Do any of you guys know where I might be able to find it? I’d like to avoid any shady piratey feeling things. I’m the guy in my group of friends who goes around flicking people’s guilt centers when I catch them stealing, after all.

Unfortunately, no. It’s one of those situations where the regular avenues of attack are completely useless.

Hence the asking a bunch of nerds what to do about it, haha.

Your best bet is to go to specialty forums that discuss her group, or artists similar to her, who might have had more experience downloading hard-to-find jpop artists. Someone might even own the cd and be willing to share, who knows!

I feel your pain though, it’s always annoying when it seems like the world is set up specifically that you can’t contribute to an artist you enjoy.

(is there a way to properly post videos here?)

I would never pay for a digital copy of anything. If you’re going to buy it you might as well get the CD even if you have to import it and pay a ton for shipping and handling. Digital quality is really awful after all, it’s not worth any price. If you must exchange money for product though, she might have a way you can donate. I know some bands who do at least.
